Visual Copy Template Question
Greetings! I wondered if anyone could help me understand what I might be doing wrong with the interesting, new "visual copy" feature of Logos 6. My templates in the left pane seem quite limited, and I can't find any way to get the portraits of Spurgeon, Wesley, Edwards, etc. even when I'm using the right click/visual copy option from one of their works. Logos simply puts the quote into a simple, colored slide, which is nice, but not nearly as exciting at the slide templates I'm seeing in the video tutorial.
Any thoughts? I appreciate it!

This is one feature that requires access to the internet to get all the templates, I think. Are you connected? If so, they may still be having some server issues. I just tried it with an internet connection and it worked.

What logos package do you have?

How's your connection to the internet, this is all done server-side so with the problem's Logos' servers have been having I wonder if that's involved.

Thanks for the input. My internet connection is good, and I had the Bronze Logos 5, and moved to the Starter Logos 6. Could it be that the Starter package doesn't include the nicer templates - like the heroes of faith portraits? The whole Visual Copy function seems to work smoothly, with everything loading fairly quickly, except that the templates are limited to simple colored and textured backgrounds.

Unless I'm mistaken, many of the "fancier" images come from proclaim media, which IS part of starter (all the packages I think). So I'm going to hazard that even though your internet was fine, you are still seeing a problem with the Logos server.
Is the problem persistent? The Logos servers seem to be running fairly well at the moment.

I wonder if that's the issue here? I haven't purchased the proclaim presentation software and I'm not aware that it was a part of the packages. The "problem" (if it is a problem) is persistent, so perhaps I do need to have a proclaim media license?

Perhaps this is the issue. I do not have the Proclaim Presentation software and I wasn't aware that it was a part of any of the packages that I've purchased. No, you don't need proclaim the software.
The Proclaim media package is a part of the Logos 6 base packages. It uses imagery developed for/with/proclaim. But you don't need proclaim.
I still suspect server issues.

Alan,
Adding your own graphics was discussed early on, it is not a current feature. I am not certain if/when it will be. But I too would like it.

I have been having the same issue. I tried visual copy last night and the templates were quite limited and did not have, for instance, the Spurgeon side.
I tried again this morning and there more noticeably more slides, although I'm not sure if they are all there.
Another question for you all: Are we supposed to have the slide templates I see Logos using on their Facebook page that go along with Bible verses? I believe they may be Proclaim templates (maybe). I was really looking forward to having access to those as part of Logos 6 (I have the extended cross grade). I thought I read somewhere on Logos' website that there are supposed to be like 250 of these...

If you mean the really artistic verse slides? Yes. If you are searching on a verse which has one, that one should show as default.

A large quantity of the visual copy templates are part of https://www.logos.com/product/45633/logos-media-archive which comes in bronze and above according to the comparison chart.

What I discovered is the slide templates with the images of the author are apparently linked to the resource author. so if the book wasn't written by Spurgeon, as example, and you are quoting from one of his sermons provided in a book by another author - the templates don't show.
if, however, you use a resource that the author is notes as Spurgeon, then use visual copy, the templates are different and show the ones with the author/spurgeon image.

TCBlack - Thanks, that was helpful. I tried it with one such verse and the artistic template did come up. I was hoping that these templates would be able to be used with any verse or quote, oh well.
Todd - Yes, I believe the Logos Media Archive is included in the version of Logos 6 I got (Extended Crossgrade).
Brent - Ah, I see...that didn't seem to be noted in Logos' marketing of that feature, but I suppose it kind of makes sense...

Thanks, Todd. Yes, I think that's why I can't get those portrait of great Christian templates. I only have the Starter version of Logos 6. It might be a good thing for Logos to post this information somewhere if it's the case, so that others aren't spending a lot of time trying to figure out what they are doing wrong (like I have been!)
It would make sense that they would have more template options with visual copy with the better packages. For now, I'll be happy with the templates which I can access. It's a very nice feature either way.

I looked at some of these features and I supposedly have them, but at least for some of them, I'm unsure of how I'm supposed to access them - notwithstanding some of the helpful tips I got already here, like the artistic slides showing up when they exist for a particular verse.For instance the firs item of the side presentation of every book of the Bible or the last item of the premade slides on topics like holiness, etc.
Are these simply forthcoming, or am I just not looking in the right place?

I believe you'll find many of them in the Logos Media Library section of a Media Search but I'm not certain.

They'll show up in various places. The media search is one, but they'll also appear in certain Factbook Entries (particularly for Bible Books), and the Logos Media section of the Passage Guide (which is NOT enabled by default).
