Logos 6 Maps Volume 3 is not in the Core Crossgrade, or Silver BP. What is it?
We're working on a large collection (about 250) of new zoomable, interactive maps for our Atlas feature. Our goal is to have a map for every biblical story that needs one. We're bundling these into three volumes: so with additional volumes (different base packages) you get a larger collection of maps.
Thanks. It's harder to decide if I don't know what I'm missing in Vol. 3
e.g. by period: Church Age? by location: Galilee? That sort of info could better help me decide if I want it or not.
We haven't settled all the contents yet, so while I believe they'll be very valuable, I can't provide a list.
Well, at least they didn't list the contents before they knew what they were. I know the Collectors will be happy with that. I'm just hoping the new hymnal has songs. Faithlife can't escape Logos.
It's hard for users to make a decision then.
It sounds like making an outline AFTER you've written the book.
Well, we have the outline. All of the biblical events in our database are candidates for maps. The reason we can't give a specific list of maps is because we have to work through the list to decide if this event needs two maps, or that event can't be mapped, or these three events are really episodes of a single story and should go into one map.
The plan is to map 'every mappable biblical event/narrative episode'. We just don't know how that 'maps to maps' well enough to give you the name of each map. We just know that there are roughly 300 'mappable' stories, and have a pretty good idea they'll require 250 unique maps.

There are a few more details about that here.
As a user, I'm not looking for a detailed list for each of the volumes. I'm just looking for something to help me decide if Vol. 3 is worth getting. A bare description Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3 is not very informative. The number of maps ... well, that doesn't say much as well.
Looking more closely at the maps we have planned, here's how the volumes are likely to break down:
Volume 1
Volume 2 - Story Maps for:
Volume 3 - Story Maps for:
Check out the Biblical Event Navigator interactive media in Logos 6 if you want to know more about what these eras refer to.
Please recognize that this is still a tentative plan, however: we may need to make some adjustments as we go along.
OK. Thanks [:)]
The customers keep you on your toes, don't they, Sean?! [:D]
Good job getting the information to us. Much appreciated!
