How long is it from the time you click on the icon until it is ready to use?
For me it just took 1 minute 26 seconds.
If you are not accounting for frame dragging, it is all for naught
I can't tell you because I don't have Logos 6 yet but if I did it would be between E=MC² and π [:)]
13.358 seconds on an older core 2 duo with 8GB RAM and 7200RPM HDD. I'm content.
When I eventually upgrade the system, you can probably take the integer away. Lol
I'm looking to upgrade to something on this order. Lol
Just for Logos.
About a minute for me opening to a blank screen. I believe it's the same each time. My laptop is about 5 years old...
HP Pavillion Entertainment PC
Processor: AMD Turion II Ultra Dual Core
Memory: 4 GB
Hard Drive: 465 GB, of which I've already used 186 GB
I'm planning to upgrade my laptop in a few months. All my programs load slowly, especially Microsoft Word programs.
Meh - It's somewhere in the bottom of the Top 500 Supercomputer list
That would be a good move. Not only in regard to Logos, but for the other progressive programs as well.
Concerning your current machine, it is probably due for a reformat and reinstallation. I have found this to be necessary with Windows every year or so, but its not an easy and straightforward task. I used to do this with my main workstations every year, but lately it has been 2-3 years. I'm moving into the realm of "Just change the machine, and give the old one away". [:)]
35 seconds to 58 seconds.
i have L4, L5, & L6 in different user accounts. Below is the time for each version using the same layout. Made sure via Task Manager that Logos was completely flushed from memory prior to starting.
Below is my layout

Bottom of the top automobiles will always be more powerful than the top of the top bicycles. [:)]
"Just change the machine, and give the old one away".
Yes, this one will go to my son. It's still got some life in it. [:D]

Not if the automobile keeps breaking down [:D]

Well, if the automobile breaks down, and the bike is a lemon, you do have something that has outlasted both, and that is your body. [:)]

Yeah it's called feet [:D]

Yes, however, considering that some may not have legs or feet, but most (all) do in fact have a body, the word "body" was selected.
Things must go much faster in windows... my mac (2.3 GHZ i7 (IVYBRIDGE)) takes a for 69 seconds, from clicking to the homepage being loaded.

SSD or traditional HD? How full is the drive?
SSD 512 GB with 14.7GB free.
How much ram do you have Dan?Seems like you should be getting more performance out of it than that. Are you loading to the new home page, or to a layout?
Home page. 8 GB RAM... it spends a fair amount of that time saying preparing library and syncing... My internet is slower with a high latency. When I start up and hold the CMND down and select work offline it gets to the same place in 45 seconds.
PS: Using MacOS 10.10
SSD 512 GB with 14.7GB free. -Dan
You are critically low on space.

Yes I agree. Time to get rid of unnecessary files or buy a external HD.
To blank layout:
15 s on 7200 HDD
20 s on SSD
What's wrong with my SSD?
not all SSD are created equall. PLUS you may want to look into processor generations. IE if your i7 laptop has a newer CPU in it, than your desktop i7.Which SSD do you have? Also free space will make some difference. though in Dan's case it shouldn't make that much I wouldn't think.

At different times, I get different results. See after few hours, you might have a different result (it could take longer, or faster).
SSD (Asus G75VW i7 16 GB RAM SSD)
HDD (Dell Studio XPS 9100 i7 12 GB RAM 7200RPM HDD)
(Let's see if I can get two in a row)
Media Name: APPLE SSD SM512E Media
I am having trouble with rows too.
256 GB SSD / 82 GB free.
That shouldn't be a problem. Puzzling.
