BUG: ESV Read Aloud not Reading Aloud

It stops in mid-sentence and does not start up again. I think this is since Service Release 2, since it was working fine yesterday.

I'm sorry you're having issues with the ESV read aloud. We tested it pretty extensively before releasing the update so I'm very sorry we may have missed something. I cannot reproduce this issue. I listened to several passages and was listening to Isaiah 3-6 while typing this message without incident.

Can you please supply some specific information about where this failure is taking place?

What OS (and version) are you running on?
Which reader are you using? (Listed in the panel menu as either "David Cochran Heath" or "System Narrator")
What location of the resource are you trying to read?
Do you have a text selection when you start read aloud?

I am using Windows 8.1, David Cochran Heath, ESV.

Text selection is spotty. Sometimes I am surprised when it suddenly appears. Then I don't see it for awhile. [:D]

I'm going to assume you're referring to the colored dot or "bulls eye" that follows the text for the remainder of my post. If that's incorrect please let me know what you are referring to.

We show a cue to indicate where the reading is. It can be a "bulls eye" indicator that shows each time the player passes the start of a new verse. It can also be a dark dot that displays just under the text and moves along with the reading. To change this setting you can either check or uncheck "Show word by word indicator" in the panel menu (just below Read aloud).

If you have the option checked there could be a few reasons it's showing sometimes and not others:

If you are reading at higher than 1x the reading can sometimes go so fast that the dot doesn't get to update often.
If you are at a portion where the reader is reading very fast the same thing can happen. (a lot of short words in a row)
The displaying of this dot happens in the background to avoid slowing the system down for something that isn't absolutely needed. A slow computer or a very busy computer can cause this to get behind and not show very often.
