Well, I have a couple of problems.
First, it seems that I don't have access to some visual copies that other have. I have the core cross grade and the video shows that I should have access to more than the few that are showing up.
Looking at others' screen shots of their Visual Copy, I cannot duplicate what they are showing, including some plain images and any of the author images, even when trying to use the same text.
Secondly, and more important, every time I open Visual Copy, my Logos 6 Freezes, and I have to shut down via the process tree.
I am on a Windows 7 64 Bit PC
Thanks.

Do you have a subscription to proclaim? Additional templates are provided when you have an active subscription.

Does it freeze when you open visual copy or when you close it? We have a known issue that we are working on fixing for freezing on close.
Alabama: No, I do not have a subscription to proclaim. So basically, without Proclaim, Visual Copy is practically worthless? All I have are a couple of colored frames that say ESV at the bottom (which is NOT good since I use NASB and even when I put an NASB verse, the ESV symbol is at the bottom.
Todd: Yes, it freezes every time I try to close it, so thanks for letting me know you are working on it. I won't bother with the log then.
Visual copy does not work for me on my T420 Thinkpad Windows X64 Ultimate it locks up; it quite working after the last update. It also does the same on my desktop running Windows 8.1 Pro X64. Have to use task manager to shut down Logos in both cases hope they get this bug fixed soon.
Okay. I'm back with more visual Copy issues.
When I do a visual copy for lemma...Nothing comes up. Nada.
I'm just wondering if these are bugs or if maybe we need to know a little more about exactly what this is supposed to be able to do from the text. All I'm trying to do is recreate what I saw on the 18 videos and it won't work.
Thank you for sharing this information. I was afraid of this since the "print" feature in logos 5 froze often. I think this has helped make the decision for me not to switch to Logos 6. especially if the creative slides are only for proclaim.
Hello NYServant:
The visual copy seems to me to be the major issue here. As for everything else except interactive media, for me...it is working fine, but this is a frustrating matter. However, I feel kind of badly because I cannot tell if my issues are because of proclaim (which I don't have) or because they are bugs, so I just don't know without more info, which is what I guess I am trying to figure out. On the side...the fact that the screens have ESV at the bottom is an issue for me because it is like a watermark...and I use NASB when I teach.
On the side, I will tell you this. The crossgrade, which I got, is not very expensive at all and is worth it just for the propositional outline ALONE. There are lots of other great features that I am loving as well, but it seems like the interactive media (which I think I am missing some of), and this visual copy is going to take them a little time to sort out.
BTW...from one (former...although is anyone ever REALLY a former) NYer to another...hello and many blessings.
Any other comments you have, Cynthia, are well worth it. I'm kind of x'ing off features to see what will be left.

can you expand on this a little please?
When I try a lemma search it seems to work fine as below:
What lemma are you selecting and from where?
Thanks Cynthia. I'm thinking of doing the feature crossgrade (since it's a few more dollars). I think i might do it and return it if it is not what I was hoping.
Praise God to see another NYer serving Christ.

Visual Copy is a feature of Logos 6: you don't need a subscription to Proclaim (unless you want to show your slides in Proclaim, which is completely different).
When you open Visual Copy, you should see a set of templates on the left. As you scroll down, more should appear (note you have to scroll, so you might otherwise think there are fewer than there are).
If you enter an author's name in the search box, you should get templates for many authors (there's a list here).
When you select a passage from a Bible version, you should get templates for that version (ESV, KJV, NIV, LEB) and also templates specific to that book.
Hello Graham:
Yes, when I perform a lemma search EXACTLY as the Logos 6 video...using the same Bible (ESV), the same word "Love" and the same steps (each and every one) NOTHING comes up. I just switched from core to feature crossgrade, so when I am done indexing, I will show you (who knows...maybe it will magically fix itself by then!) :)
Thanks for your help!
Okay, I was only joking above...but it looks like it actually Magically DID fix itself...sort of.
The Lemma visual copy works
The Scripture reference now shows NASB
The Books come up with the author.
I wonder if it was because I switched from core to feature? Hmmm...
Anyway, that being said, I still can't use it at all because the minute I do, it freezes and I have to totally shut down via the process tree in order to restart. I know this is a problem already reported, so I will anxiously look forward to the fix. Until then, I won't play with it any more because I can't move forward at all from there.
So, that's that! Problem magically solved with the next level up cross grade.
On the side, I'm kicking myself for not having taken a screen shot before. This is like when I tell my husband that the car makes some funky noise all week, and then when he goes out to start it, the noise is gone!
Cynthia in Florida: So, that's that! Problem magically solved with the next level up cross grade.
Thanks for confirming that. I have the core crossgrade and Visual Copy is pretty much useless to me. It doesn't have that many 'nice' templates (that I can see anyway, and I did scroll all the way down). Also, searching for templates by author names provides no results:
Anyway, I'm not too upset about any of this because I consider it a side feature. I got the core crossgrade mainly for the propositional outlines feature; the rest is icing (though I do like icing ). I've been learning to arc (over at Biblearc.com) and this tool will be a great complement.
Cynthia,
I've been having the exact same problem of not having the visual copy templates that others are showing - just the plain, colored or textured backgrounds. I'm really curious why? I, too, thought that it must be required to have a subscription to Proclaim, but several have been saying that it's not true. Interesting. I'll keep waiting and hoping and trying!
Continuing problems with Visual Copy
Slow
Crashes
Trying to copy Hosea 14:1 and get mass of verses on 1 slide
Occasionally works OK but generally of little use.
Disappointed that a feature with such potential is released in this way.

Scott, I had to get a features crossgrade to get all the templates for visual copy. You might call sales to see what all of your options are to get what you want. At any rate you don't need a subscription to Proclaim for visual copy to work.
I am having the same problems. Visual Copy was the only reason I initially upgraded when I did, so was quite disappointed. Since then I have found the Ancient Literature addition to the Passage Guide and it is so useful I'm happy I transitioned. I still want this feature though so I hope they get it worked out soon.
