Has anyone else experienced Logos 6 randomly stopping and closing? This has happened several times since I have updated the other day. Very annoying. Any ideas how to fix it?
Any ideas how to fix it?
PC or Mac?
I have not experienced this. We'll need to have diagnostic logs to help. Enable permanent logging (if on a PC the instructions are in the link). Wait until a crash occurs. Before restarting Logos .zip the log files together into one file and attach them to a follow-up message using the paperclip icon.
I am using a Mac. Going to try to uninstall it and download the installer again. Hope that might do the trick.
For what is worth, I have not experience it. So far, everything is good.

That's very rarely necessary, and you'll end up with a big download. Logs will be easier...
Why go nuclear? That is rarely a fix anyways, unless you get in and delete your resources and .db files... in all likelihood, you aren't accomplishing anything. Please enable and post logs. There is a link in my signature line to assist you.
Thanks Alabama. I will try this first.

Have experienced Verbum 6 on OS X 10.10 crashing when attempting to rebuild document index.
Without looking at Logos 6 diagnostic log files, humanly have no idea.

Alabama,
I am not sure if I did this right or not but I tried to follow the directions. Perhaps it will give someone a clue as to what is happening.

Aaron, those are the correct files. You've had some errors written but no crashes. I don't know if someone will be able to see something useful here or not.
I checked the logs, and the only errors I can see is that Logos is failing to connect to the Logos server on multiple occasions.
That shouldn't cause a crash, but (a) it might be worth trying to track down why that's happening [over-zealous firewall?], and (b) you might see what happens to Logos if you work offline. For Mac, launch Logos, then quickly press and hold command key until the login screen appears, then release command key. Then select “Work Offline”.
Well it turns out that the problem was a corrupted file that was downloaded when Logos updated. An old version was masking as the new one. Thanks to Cheryl and the other great folks at Logos that spent over an hour working to get it fixed. So far, no more problems.
Glad to hear it Aaron. [:)]

That must have been very hard to figure out, but glad someone at Logos could do it.
Thanks for letting us know. Enjoy Logos 6!
