BUG 6.0a Beta 2: Event searching not working properly
Windows 8.1 with Verbum 6.0a Beta 2.
I am not getting results for any <Event> searches, regardless of whether I use <Event XXXXX> or {Section <Event XXXXXX>}. Here is an example (I have tried with many other events as well, so it's not just that this event is lacking markup).

I would have probably thought the same, but I remember that at least up to about a week ago, <Event> search found lots of tagged texts. When I wrote this post I was regularly getting hundreds if not thousands of hits in resources for <Event XXXX>. I was getting fewer hits for {Section <Event XXXX>}, but I am guessing that is because that search is used for a specific section in the Factbook section. Now those same searches come up empty.

I see. Thanks. Then something must definitely have gotten broken in 6.0a.

I'm not able to reproduce that in 6.0; AFAIK there is extremely little <Event> tagging throughout the library, so one shouldn't expect many results.

This should return many hits because it will find the "defining passages" for the event in every Bible you own.

I can reproduce this bug and have filed a case.

This will be fixed in the next beta.

Maybe the fix you were talking about includes this, but given the above note I wanted to add this just in case... <Event XXXX> should return lots of hits, in your post here you provide a search example that now comes up empty. It corresponds, however, to what Logos runs when you select a Factbook event tag from the context menu and search for it. And run across the entire Bible, those numbers add up.

It doesn't though, at least compared to the factbook search data. But I think that makes sense, as the "defining passages" are few and select, even if long. Thanks, BTW, for confirming what this {Section <Event>} search is for! If there are any other hidden searches you haven't revealed yet but that already exist, please share! [:P]

Did you noticed my comment and will this problem be fixed?

books.logos.com doesn't support <Event> searches; you will get spurious results. This may be fixed in the future.
The Library Results section is a bug; this will be fixed in the next 6.0a beta.

This is fixed in 6.0a RC1.
