Endless synchronization and Reverse Interlinear
First the good news ... at last L6 is working! At least it is almost working. I cannot use the internet feature.
1. "Synchronization" works endlessly without achieving anything.
2. The logs tell me there is problem with the ReverseInterlinear manager.
I have had these problems (and others) for over a month .... can someone help?

1. There is some sort of connection problem between you and our sync servers. I think it's client-side, but I can't tell for sure. Do you have any firewall, proxy server, ISP filtering, etc.?
2. Can you zip and upload the following files?
\Logos 6\Logos\Data\rgh1gjib.pis\ReverseInterlinearManager\reverseinterlinearmanager.db
\Logos 6\Logos\Data\rgh1gjib.pis\LibraryCatalog\catalog.db0 -
Bradley,
Thx for the reply. I am sure we will work this out.
1. Firewall is Norton360. I have disabled N360 without any change. I have several malware/spyware programs working away in the background. As far as I know they do not block web access but warn me.
As for proxy servers and ISP filtering I have no certain knowledge. I will contact my provider immediately and ask there advice. I use TPG and their service details are here http://www.tpg.com.au/support/generalsetting.php.
2. Find 2 files zipped and attached. (I cannot attach the catalog zip file ... is it too big 46M? Unzipped it is 87M.)
Thx

2. Let's ignore the Library Catalog for now; can you zip & upload this instead?

I'm still not fully sure what's going on, but it's possible that one of the reverse interlinears is causing a problem. Can you try deleting this file? Does it help?
\Logos 6\Logos\Data\rgh1gjib.pis\ResourceManager\Resources\LXXHEB.lbsrvi
If that works, "update resources" should download a new copy of this file; however, it's possible that the problem would recur (since I'm not completely sure what's causing it in the first place).

Deleted LXXHEB.
It downloaded again, 37M.
But the problem persists.

I'm not sure if deleting all the *.lbsrvi files will help. I'm now thinking that the crash is caused by a file not currently listed in your ReverseInterlinearManager.db.
Since your Library Catalog is too big to upload, can you do this instead?
- Install SQLite Manager for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/sqlite-manager/
- Open \Logos 6\Logos\Data\rgh1gjib.pis\LibraryCatalog\catalog.db
You may need to change a preference to allow it to open *.db files, not just *.sqlite - In the Execute SQL tab, enter
SELECT ResourceId, Title, Type FROM Records WHERE Type = 'lbx.reverse-interlinear' - Click Run SQL then click Actions and Save Result (CSV) to File
- Upload the CSV file

Thx for your time and patience.
You thoughts about replacing all the *.lbsrvi are correct. There were 27 such files.
Find zipped file as requested.

Aha! Found the problem.
Delete \Logos 6\Logos\Data\rgh1gjib.pis\ResourceManager\Resources\ESVOTREVINT.lbxlls
This file is not compatible with Logos 6. (It may have been imported from your LDLS3 installation?)

Thank you Bradley. That solves one of my problems.
With the synchronization going endlessly, is there any way that I can have L6 connected to the Internet, for updates etc, and be able to switch synchronization ON and OFF without exiting and restarting L6?
Thx

No, synchronization can't be turned off independently of "Use Internet".

It was, together with other troublesome resources!
I think it is time for Logos to stop importing local Logos 2 and Logos 3 resource as it is causing more grief than relief! If we really want these files we can do it via the scan command (I provided the registry fix to Stephen a few days ago)

Good suggestion; we'll make that change in 6.0b.

This change has been made in 6.0b Beta 1.

Has it also been made to the scan command (or will it also prevent scan from doing it)?

The "scan" command has not been changed in 6.0b.

The change in 6.0b is that Logos 6 will no longer automatically scan "C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources" (or wherever your LDLS3 resources were stored if you used the Power Tools addin to change the path). This is the only change.

The phrasing of my question was imprecise. I meant to ask if "scan" will still automatically look for LDLS3 resources, in addition to scanning the path provided.

I wasn't aware that "scan" did that, which is probably why I didn't directly answer your question. (It sounds like a very bad idea. [:)])
All code that automatically looks in the Libronix DLS Resources folder has been deleted, so it will not still automatically look for LDLS3 resources. (LBXLLS files are still accepted by the "scan" command if you scan a folder that contains them.)

It was documented in the wiki!

Thanks, that's what it should be.

Then it appears that this line of the wiki should be removed. Right, Bradley?
"The command will run a full scan of any Libronix folders and Logos Resources folders in addition to what you specify."
Either it never did that or it no longer does that.

The original form of that was added 4 years ago but not by Bradley, and I have removed it from the update for Logos 6.

This change is in 6.0b, which is now on the stable channel.
