To be a little more precise, we plan to label sermons are labeled by Preaching Theme. That's a simple, general categorization that works well for sermon and preaching resources (because it's general), with themes like "Holy Spirit: Gifts". The Topic Guide is driven by a much more fine-grained categorization (about 14k concepts): we don't typically categorize sermons that way, and there are often half a dozen or more specific concepts corresponding to a single Preaching Theme.

That being said, adding Sermons to the Topic Guide seems like a reasonable suggestion, so we'll add it to our list of possible new features.

----

Edit: our intention is to ship sermons with Preaching Theme labels, but we haven't released that data yet. Apologies for living too far in the future!

Stephen Steele:

It would be nice if the sermon search clarified who the sermons were by. Eg in the list that Phil posted, most are self-explanatory but unless you have it all memorised, titles like 'Ninety-six sermons', 'Sermon outlines' and 'Sermons on several occasions' don't really help.

Completely agree. There's a new spec that organizes sermons by preacher. It's on our list to implement in the near future.

Jacob Hantla:
Really? That sure seems like Grace To You would love to get these out more broadly. Do you need help getting in touch with the right people?

I'm pretty sure we talked to all the right people. Just doesn't look like it's going to happen right now.

Jacob Hantla:
Also, are you going to be getting Piper's audio and video into his sermon series from Desiring God?

We'd like to at some point. No guarantees yet.

Mark:

Thomas Manton's sermons don't show up in these searches

Mark:

also H.A Ironside sermons don't seem to populate

Not all sermons have been tagged yet. We're working through existing sermon resources to label them.

Phil,

Are the Q & A's included in MacArthur's? Those are as important.

Great question Mike!

It looks like we have a very limited number of Q&A sessions included in the MacArthur Sermon Archive.

They are included with MacArthur's Strange Fire series (4 parts) and Preachers on Preaching (2 parts).

Wow Sean, I had no idea the Topic Guide had such precise categorization. Thanks for taking the time to respond and for considering integrating sermons into the Topic Guide. I appreciate it.

Any plans to give us free update for the Q&As? (hint: we don't mind if you put this under "sermon")
