Anyone go with Baker publishing and get the first physical (book) copy of Luke for $10.00 with shipping?
I wonder if this discounted hardcopy way to go is cheaper than buying the Logos versions (which naturally feature more)?
It is cheaper - but each person would need to determine whether it is of more value to them which, I expect, would depend on their study habits.
For me it is much more valuable to have these types of reference books in Logos than in paper form.
Thanks Graham....you rock.

Sigh.
Well, ok. Since you asked, let's do the math here: There are currently 7 books in the Teach the Text commentary series either for sale or in Pre-Pub at Logos, but Amazon has more info. According to Amazon, the full retain prices are as follow:
The total retail for this 11 volumes are $409.89. Of course, nobody pays for full retail price anymore. If the "Teach the Text" official website offers a 40% off future volumes, that'll put a typical volume at $18-$30. However, with S&H, it'll increase the price further (maybe $23-$35/volume.) Ordering physical books from Amazon will be cheaper in this case. 11 volumes will only cost $296.31, or $27/volume.
However, if you order the series from Logos at the Pre-Pub price, it'll typically be $20-$25/volume. The volume on Psalms was not in Pre-Pub, so I didn't know the true price from Logos. But judging from what Logos has put out so far, their price for digital books are comparable with physical volumes bought from either Amazon or from publisher directly. Add the benefit of indexing from Logos software, I personally think it's worth to purchase all volumes from Logos.
Having that said, I'm sure some other Tree company can offer a cheaper digital price, or even a bundle discount once all the volumes are published.
I can't make the decision for you, but at least here is the math you requested. Nothing beats doing math and putting our minds to work right before the new year comes. It'll make the countdown much easier. [<:o)]
Happy New Year!
