I wanted to try a simple example to verify that I could use reftagger before moving to something more advanced.

I must have something missing here, but I have read the documentation, and looked through much of the forum. The biblical references do not provide links to the passages; they just show up as text. I have the file saved on my desktop as index.html. I would appreciate any assistance.

Here is what I have:

Matthew 1<br><br>

<p>John 3:16</p>

var refTagger = {
settings: {
bibleVersion: "NIV",
roundCorners: true,
socialSharing: ["facebook"]
(function(d, t) {
var g = d.createElement(t), s = d.getElementsByTagName(t)[0];
g.src = "//";
s.parentNode.insertBefore(g, s);
}(document, "script"));

The script requires the page to be hosted at an HTTP (or HTTPS) site; it won't work when loaded as a local file.

You could try changing
    g.src = "//";
    g.src = "";
but note that many browsers will still block this (for security reasons). The solution is to host your page on a HTTP server.

Could you maybe make this info available under the FAQ? - it would be helpful for all those who want to try it locally first.

I myself had the same issue, because I also tried it locally first.
