LearnLogos.com or Morris Proctor or None?

Which training for 6.0 would/will be the most useful, comprehensive, and cheapest?
Are the free "snippet" videos Faithlife is producing enough in your humble opinion?
www.learnlogos.com seems to be developing one too.
Sigh...wish I knew which is the best buy and why?

I bought Learnlogos when I got L5. It was a whole lot cheaper than Morris' and done very well.

What LeanLogos are you referring? There are multiple resources ..

I have used both quite a bit. Both are excellent. Learnlogos.com is by far the most bang for the buck. Freebies online along with time and courageous exploration will take you almost anywhere, but well-prepared tutorials are certainly a shortcut.
I cut my Logos teeth on the freebies, and got my wisdom teeth by purchasing tutorials.

I attended one of Mo's Camp Logos sessions. It was worth the time and money, other than the cost of travel and housing (300 miles is as close as Mo gets to the Texas panhandle). That added cost is one of the reasons I beat the drum so hard on Logos providing better training (see my sig).
I also bought Danny Zacharias' training on Udemy.com. I found this to be excellent training and well worth the minimal cost. I recommend it. Plus, he keeps adding new videos (he's up over 60 now), and having bought the original package, I get free access to the new stuff. Heck of a deal.

My opinion is rarely humble, and no; those videos, while good, are not nearly enough. There's an old saying I love: "Charm works for about 15 minutes. After than, you'd better know something." Those videos are 'charm'. After 15 minutes, we need to know something!
I would recommend you keep putting pressure on Faithlife to support their expensive software with appropriate training resources. (And don't you smart-aleks tell me Logos is free...that's a dodge of unbiblical proportions.) Perhaps they'll get the message if enough customers keep telling them how badly we need training (and not just introductory videos).

Thanks everyone including Mr. Fritz. The videos on that site I am told are a little blurry. I preordered the 6.01 Logos v1 and v2 but may cancel it.

I've purchased the Udemy class and can also agree that it's pretty general. I have purchased the LearnLogos for L6, waiting patiently for the release and am very hopeful/excited they will be more in-depth. I have been attending his monthly webinars and learn a lot from him already that way, so I'm confident the work put in to the training will be just as fruitful.
But if not, then A.) I will be sad and B.) it would be time to sigh over the price of the Morris videos....[:)]

Josh, in the Logos-tutorial of Udemy you can change the resolution of the videos from low to high.

I bought it too. I am very impressed by Zacharias' course. Although it is introductory I still learned several new things and refreshed my memory on many more things. It is well worth the price.Doc B said:I also bought Danny Zacharias' training on Udemy.com. I found this to be excellent training and well worth the minimal cost. I recommend it. Camp Logos on DVD is better than Camp Logos Live since you can watch the DVD over ad over.
LearnLogos is more affordable and is rather comprehensive.
I recommend all three instruction paths.
*I have even learned a few things watching the Quickstart videos.*

Perhaps you could try it.

tried that one, don't work with the L6 pre-order.

I stopped/cancelled my order for v1 and v2 of Logos training on pre order here within the site itself.
I may try the less expensive hopefully more comprehensive other guy's training (not LearnLogos which I bought for 5.0 but never mastered)
Anyone know where I can get a coupon for this page?

Thanks, Russel. Impulse buy at $6. If I learn anything, and there is so much about Logos that I don't know, it will be well worth $6.

Bumme!. I just bought it yesterday after seeing it mentioned earlier on this thread, and it was $37. They must have seen an uptick in purchases lately (from the referrals here) and said to themselves "whoa! we've got to capitalize on this and have a sale to bring in lots more users now!"

I can't test it to see if it still applies the coupon code automatically, because I already own the course so when I click on the link it takes me to the lessons directly.

I first purchased Logos 1 for $600 on 1/17/1994 & Logos 1 & 2 never really worked at all until Libronix bought it from DTS & came out with 3 and I had to pay hundreds more. Just buried Libronix 3.? on 2/14/2015 as it would not work on my new computer since the engine for upgrades had been converted to Logos 4; decided to biter the bullet w/upgrade to L6 & I am dazed & confused by cost & difficulty setting up new workspace! I am thankful to God, Faithlite let me keep my 1994-2014 Library purchases. Just would like to put them into effective service!!!
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN ACADEMICS IS TO BE RELEASED?

Hi Richard, welcome to the Logos forums. Your question would probably have been better starting a new thread, but you didn't know that since you're a first time forum user, so I'll go ahead an answer it here. But in the future, to start a new thread, scroll down on the main Logos forums to where it says "Recent Topics" and click "Write a New Post" -- it will ask you which forum to post it to, and Logos 6 would be best for most Logos 6 questions, or General if you're not sure where to put it.
Richard E. Fish Sr. said:Logos 1 & 2 never really worked at all until Libronix bought it from DTS & came out with 3...
To clarify, the same company, Logos Research Systems (the company started by Bob Pritchett which has transmogrified over the years into Faithlife today) wrote Logos 1 and 2 and 3 (also called Libronix) and 4 and 5. What Logos bought from DTS (or acquired the rights to after a joint venture) was CDWord Library, the books of which formed the core of their resource offerings from 2.0 on. But the code was their own from the beginning. Libronix was a branding name that Logos used for version 3, and it didn't end up sticking. They went back to calling the product Logos as of version 4. Most of us used the name "Libronix" interchangeably with "Logos 3" or L3 for short. So there wasn't a company Libronix that bought Logos.
Richard E. Fish Sr. said:decided to biter the bullet w/upgrade to L6 & I am dazed & confused by cost & difficulty setting up new workspace!
Well, first, congrats on your purchase. It's a complex piece of software, so don't be surprised that there's going to be quite a learning curve. However there is lots of help along the way. Ask questions as you go on the forums, and definitely check out the many different tutorial videos that are available. Mark Barnes has done a great series of them for newbies which is based on Logos 4, but most of the user interface is the same from L4 through L5 and L6. There are also some free QuickStart for Logos Bible Software videos by Morris Proctor which you should have in your library, as they come free with all the base packages. Type Ctrl+L to open your library and then type quickstart in the Find box to find them. That should take you well along the way to being able to set up a Layout (which is the new word for what used to be called a "workspace" in L3). Also read anything you can get your hands on about Layouts, in the Help file (on the help menu which is gotten to via the ? icon in the upper right) and on the Logos wiki: https://wiki.logos.com/Layouts__.
Richard E. Fish Sr. said:DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN ACADEMICS IS TO BE RELEASED?
Not sure what you mean by "ACADEMICS" -- could you clarify? If you're talking about the Scholars base packages, those were discontinued as of Logos 5. As you've noticed, you still have all the resources you ever bought before, though, so you shouldn't be missing anything vital. Is there some set of resources in particular that you're wondering when it's going to be available?

Happy purchase!

I just purchased it for $6. There is a menu item on the right to use a coupon and I just manually entered 75SWEET. It did say that it expired on 2/18/2015.

I got a phone call from Mr. Dave Kaplan on the LearnLogos software. I do not want anyone here to misunderstand here. I have no trouble with his excellent software or even Logos. I am just seeking alternatives. I could very well wind up buying them all one day....figuring out which I am going to begin with right now though. [:)]

I ended up buying both LearnLogos's forthcoming Logos 6 bundle and the Udemy course. Figured I can review them so as to be able to make better recommendations to others, even if I don't really need them both myself.

Many in the forum spoke of their good experience with videos from Learn Logos.com.
Especially, many of the comments suggested that videos from both sites (Udemy & LearnLogos.com) are well worth the low price they are being offered.
So I have also pre-ordered the forthcoming Learn Logos 6 bundle.
To me also these too are reasonably priced and I will even be able to give informed comment after personally evaluating them.
Again thanks for bring this to my attention.

Thanks Lee. I keep trying. Different Credit Cards, Paypal. I assumed the postal code should match the credit card. I will try some exit node codes. Either that or some KYR postal code! Even tried buying through iTunes--that fails too, yet my credit card is clear--checked that too, even used it to test it. So far, no success.

Thanks for the information, though it is complected to find where the coupon should be put. I just clicked on the redeem,,,. and I put the coupon code and have purchased it.
