Logos 6.1 SR-1 (6.1.0.0024) is available for download.
If you have automatic updates turned on, 6.1 SR-1 will be downloaded automatically the next time your system checks for updates. To install it right away, enter the Update Now command.

Thanks for the update it did fix the bible translation issue in the reading plan, but not the undesired jump to the passage guide instead of just giving the day's devotional reading.

I have my settings to open directly to my resources - and the toolbars and tabs are light gray. When I click open the homepage, the toolbars and tabs turn light blue. Even when I go back to my resource layout, the toolbars and tabs stay light blue. Was this by design?

I don't see this on Windows. What platform are you running on?
Can you post before and after screenshots?

Immediately after installing, the software now says it can't connect to Logos. I had 20 minutes prior done an update now to get new books and the new release. HELP!
Update! I figured out the issue. Norton 360 all of a sudden decided it needed to start blocking Logos 6. Thanks Norton, that was realllll helpful. How to fix? Open up the Norton 360 main interface, go to Firewall, and go to Program Rules. Specifically, I found two entries (Logos Bible Software and Logos Bible Software Indexer) that I changed from "auto" to "allow". That fixed it.

I see the update. I am on a macbook pro. I click on to install updates. It has I waited till 100% completed on the top right corner. Then clicked to install it (recommended). Then the "Logos Bible Software Update Installer" pops up on the doc and Logos shuts off as normal.
It says it is extracting update with the little rectangular box. Then the little box says "install and relaunch" as it usually does. I click this on.
Then it proceeds to tell me "Update Error!" "An error occured while installing the update. Please try again later.
This has never happened and I have tried now several times but it is not working. What do you all suggest?

Try restarting your computer. If that doesn't work, try downloading the engine and installing manually.

So you are saying to reinstall the whole program? I did try two restarts with no success. So do I delete the current app and then reinstall the app? Wont this take hours?

Thank you Lynden, I'm not exactly sure I found my issue in that link.
As to reinstalling the app. I guess I could redownload the whole thing again. I have "app zapper" on my mac as well. What this does is it completely deletes all files and threads related to an app plus the app itself. ANother words, I could drag logos into the trash and hit delete but it wont delete everything from that install, thus other remaining files are taking up space in the drive.
I'm thinking of reinstalling in the background (fresh) logos 6. I know this will take hours, while keeping the current logos open, I need it today for some projects that have to get done.
Then when it finishes, I will then drop the old logos into app zapper and zap it gone. Then open the new fresh install of Logos 6. Do you all think this will work?

Start by replacing the app in the applications folder. Don't delete anything else. Don't use appzapper.

Before you go that far try going to your orders page and finding the link to Logos 6 - when you download and install it should overwrite the existing engine with a complete new copy. Existing library files etc are unaffected and so the whole process should take no more than a cup of tea - providing you don't boil the kettle first.

I've been using Norton ever since they rewrote it several years ago and have had almost no issues but it all of sudden it's shut down access to a couple of things: Logos and (get this) Firefox. Strange.

No. For clarification: What I was suggesting you do is to download the software engine and install it manually. You will delete nothing, but you will write the new engine over the old one. Scroll down on THIS page to find the download link. If you don't know how to manually install software, view THIS page.

Again, for clarification: There are two parts to running Logos: The software engine and the data files (resources, index, log files, etc.). Often when people have problems with Logos they will delete the software engine and reinstall it. Unfortunately, that rarely does anything. If there is a bug in the software, they will be downloading the same software with the same bug. If there is a bug, a software update is required and simply reinstalling the software is pointless.
Many times there is an issue somewhere in the data files, which are MUCH larger (typically) and remain on your computer after you delete the software engine. So again, deleting the software and reinstalling is pointless.
Your issue is that you can't update from one version of the app to another via the normal "update now" automatic method. You will not be touching the data files at all. In essence, you will be doing exactly what normally happens when you update, but manually. The old software will be written over by the new software.
Does that make sense?

Hello Mike, so you suggest just going to my orders and click on the link and redownload it? This should write over the older files and thus send them to the trash automatically? I just don't want to have HD space taken up by duplicate files. THis sounds easy enough.

Thank you Alabama24, I tried this as you suggested. It did take up HD space as well. It opened and asked for the update. I did the update and same small rectangular box appears saying update error as the photo shown in my previous post. So it did not work. I guess I'll have to call logos I.T. about this tomorrow. It did not write over the old version, nothing went into the trash, the old icon says logos 6 on the dock, the new icon says logos 7, strange.

Alabama and I seem to differ on the efficacy of reinstalling the engine in cases like yours - he seems to have been right on this occasion though.
So it looks like you have an option either gather and post logs on the forum and see if the technically minded can guide you further or wait until Monday and contact customer service.

I probably wasn't fully clear above. There ARE times when a user needs to manually reinstall the engine... and I thought this was one of those times.
I know that there was a bug in one build which prevented users from updating... but I don't think users were getting to the point of an error message... it just wouldn't update.

6.1 killed Verbum performance and 6.1 SR-1 has not helped. When I bring up a passage guide and click more commentaries it takes literally minutes (last night in Gospel it took 4 minutes before it would let me do anything). I have tried to be patient but it is getting to the point I hate to do a passage guide because of it;s endless population where it will not let me even read while it does it. Please someone at FL tell me that this will be rectified soon.

Here is what I did to fix my situation. I did not use app zapper but used my other trusty "trash me." I dragged and dropped logos into trash me. Bam it was gone. THen went ahead and downloaded a fresh install as if it was just purchased. I know some of you told me not to do this but I did anyway. Well it worked, my macbook pro has a fresh L6 install and running the new updated version. No problems.
Why does the icon in my dock say Logos 7 when I scroll over it? Thats what is puzzling to me.
