am I to understand correctly that verso will not display PBB personal book builder books? If we are not able to import our sermons, house then are we to use any of the logos products in our preaching? Currently, I am using Evernote, however there is no way to integrate Evernote into logos right now. I was hoping that verso would be the solution, however, After importing a book into verso on the desk top it does not sync to my wiring which means that I cannot view it on my iPad. If I could you be imported books into verso on the desktop and see them on my iPad, then everything will be great. Is there a way to make that happen?

Hi Tim:

Right now, none of the mobile devices, nor the websites Biblia or Faithlife, have access to personal books. My understanding is that that is planned, although recent posts by Logos staffers indicated they're playing down any expectation that it will be soon.

When the main iOS and Android apps are able to access PBs, it is likely that the Vyrso versions will also have that capability.

Thank you for your response.  I sincerely appreciate it.  Do you know of ANY Logos tool that will allow us to write our sermons, that can be incorporated into the Logos System that is usable on the iPad . . . . so that I can preach from the iPad?  If only Evernote could be incorporated into the Logos App, or the Faithlife app.

You <could> create a note and use the note document... but I would not recommend it.

Can you explain what you mean by "preach from the iPad"? What is it about using a third party app that makes it less than ideal for you?

I regularly use the notes capability in Logos when I am preaching

I create the note on my desktop and it syncs automatically to the iPad.

I then have the iPad app in split-screen mode with the Bible text in one half and my notes in the other

This sounds like something I may investigate, Graham.  I use the iPad to preach from, (instead of paper notes).  I like the idea of being able to tap a reference and see the reference, (instead of having to copy and paste the entire reference).  This is where Vyrso would come in really handy.

I too, want the split screen view on the iPad so that I can preach from my notes and see the biblical passage at the same time.  We can't create notes from the iPad though, (or edit them for that matter), can we?

This is one of the current limitations of the mobile apps - when you tap on a reference (or anywhere else) in a notes document the app assumes opens the editor instead of linking through to a resource.

Are you aware of how to enable that in the app?

Yes - but there is more functionality available in the Bible! app (also available from Faithlife) than the Vyrso one so I would like at that for serious work.

When you say, "The Bible!" app, are you referencing the Faithlife app or the Logos app?  I guess the real issue I have is trying to figure out how to organize sermons in my "Notes" app.  Again, I want to use these "notes", (sermons) from the iPad while preaching.

I'm referring to https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bible!-by-logos/id336400266?mt=8 - which is the original app produced by Logos (now Faithlife) for the iOS environment.

What I typically do is have a Notes Document for each sermon series I am doing and then create a separate note for each sermon. I do most of the work on the desktop and the notes just sync down to the iPad

Understood - and, as above, I do this regularly.

But can you expand on exactly what functionality you need? What you are looking for when preaching may be different to my needs.

And I am not suggesting that it couldn't be better. There are things which could be enhanced and it would be nice to be able to sync personal books for this. But it does work - and has worked effectively - for a long time and I have found it very valuable.

Below is a screenshot of a note file that created for a sermon, called, "The Love of God".  If I click on the yellow "note", it will open up a drop down section, (which is nice, I suppose), however, any biblical references within any of these yellow notes, do not display at the bottom.

What am I missing?  Thank you for your help ;-)

As far as I can see there is no relationship between your notes file and the passage you have open.

Yours notes file seems to have two notes in it (maybe more) one titled "The Power of His Love" and the other one titled "The Demonstration of God's Love". And you have included some biblical passages in those notes.

How do you want these to link to the biblical text?

Are you preparing a topical sermon which will need to link to different passages or are you preparing one based on a particular passage?

What are you trying to do?

I simply want to write my sermon notes up, tap on a biblical reference in my notes, and have that reference appear below the split screen.  It appears that when I had created this "sermon", I was treating each "yellow note" as a point within the same sermon.  I guess that's probably not a good idea.

And I'm afraid, as I noted above, this particular requirement - tapping on a reference in a note and it appearing in a resource - is not something which can currently be done.

It has been requested but I don't know whether it is going to be made available.

Thank you, Graham.  Upon further investigation, if you enter the scripture reference as part of the title of a given note, that will, in fact, display the passage in question a the bottom of the page.

One can even create a note under, "Documents" on the iPad, but you are only allow to enter the title, and you can't enter any content.

True - but, as you say, it doesn't help if you want a reference within the body of the note

This is actually creating a "Notes Document" - into which you can then add notes as required.

If you open that Notes Document and tap the icon at the top which looks like a pen on paper that will add a note into which you can type content.
