Hello,
I recently upgraded to the portfolio and have a general question on how to use this particular resource – Below is how it appears my search window.
4Q30 Deuteronomy c
(4QDeuteronomyc, 4QDeutc)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is one of the resources from the Qumran Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls Database. You've probably noticed others of them too (if you filter your Library with Lexham Qumran you'll find them all):
If you don't read Hebrew and/or don't know what the Dead Sea Scrolls are, then you probably won't have any use for these. I personally can read a tiny bit of Hebrew and I know what the DSS are, but I still don't find that I have any reason to look anything up in this database. It's for people who are highly advanced in their Scripture study and want to compare biblical texts with the versions that appeared in the fragmentary scrolls found in the caves at Qumran. And there are some other scrolls that contain information about their communal life together, religious rituals and regulations, etc.
An introductory text on the Dead Sea Scrolls might get you started in learning more about these documents and whether you might someday be able to make use of them. Someone else might be able to recommend such a book.
