Thank you, Nathan. This is great! Any chance you could provide one link to download them all together in a zip file?

Thanks Nathan,
For my purposes it worked well to compile the whole pile of documents into one book I called The Works of Chesterson. Some titles and chapters weren't aligned well in the TOC, but why would that matter? Of course if someone wanted to clean it all up.....
Anyway that was easier than compiling each book independently, lazy me.

Thanks so much for sharing these Nathan. It would be great if you also posted on the Files forum because that is where most people go to find this type of information.

That's a great idea, Rosie. I hadn't thought of that. I might google that when I get a chance and see if I can figure out how to do that. If I do, I will share it here. Glad you found it helpful!

Great idea. I had thought of that, but decided to retain the individual volumes for now--helps me feel a sense of accomplishment when I actually finish a book. [:)]

The sad result of doing this project at different times on different computers. No consistency in the formatting. For some, I used Heading 1 for title and chapters. For others, the chapters are under Heading 2. If I ever do a single volume, I'll probably take the time to fix as much of that as I can catch.

If you're on Windows, you can open the folder where all your .docx files reside, select all of them (by clicking on the first one and then Shift-clicking on the last one), then right-click anywhere on the group that's selected and choose "Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder" -- give the .zip file a name (it proposes a default which is the name of the first file in your group, but you can replace it with something more appropriate), and that's all there is to it. Then you can upload that .zip file.
If you're on a Mac, alas I don't know how to do it.

Very similar - open Finder, multi select the files, right click and choose Compress <n> Items. It puts a zip file right in place.

Thanks, Don and Rosie. Yes, I have a Mac. That worked, but apparently I cannot connect .zip files to a wordpress.com blog (or here). So I sent it to Dropbox. Let me know if this link works. I will also add it to the blog post.

Thank you. This is so valuable for me.

Here is a set of covers for this fantastic collection. I have made a few from scratch others are the cover I found that appeared best to me. Some of the old original jacket covers are of a poorer quality but hey you get what you pay for... Enjoy.

Sorry to rain on this, but we aren't supposed to make PBs that are in competition with Logos products.

Thanks, Dan! I had found some of them already, but you've saved me a lot of time.
BTW, the cover for "As I Was Saying" that you located is the first one I found too, but then I realized that it's the wrong cover. It is the cover for the "Chesterton Reader" by that title, edited by Robert Knille, whereas the "As I Was Saying" that we have been provided in this collection of .docx files is from an earlier book/essay by GKC with that title, published by Methuen in London in 1948. I found a cover for it here. I had to edit it in Photoshop to fix the skew from the original photo, but here's the fixed up version. As you were saying, "some of the old original jacket covers are of a poorer quality." [:)]

None of the Personal Book docx files are being sold by Logos in that collection or anywhere else.

Thanks for pointing this out, George. Fixed. Currently, as far as I can tell, the link includes no books offered by FL.

Now that's true. When I first made the "Download All" link subsequent to my original post, in my haste, I had included all my GKC books, including books with Logos editions. Also, those books were also available elsewhere on the blog (if the title isn't a give away, I like Chesterton; and I obviously really don't spend a lot of time working on my blog). Since I would rather a limited number of the books I have be helpful to many than that all be helpful to a few (my blog gets no traffic otherwise), I thought it best just to remove those links.
That brings up another question. I'm new on the forums, and am not so familiar with protocol and guidelines (yes, I read them; sorry my comprehension level on tech stuff is probably way sub-par). Is it permissible to link to an external blog like this? Or is it preferable to simply share the files here? If shared, should they get one post each (in case FL releases editions of some books and not others and needs to remove them from the forums), or all together for convenience?

Nathan, thanks from me too for this generous offering! God bless. [Y]

Download All link now fixed. This contains just 42 .docx books not sold by FL. Feel free to share.
