[resolved] BUG: Character in resource (correctly) cannot be search for (bad)

Resource: Bonhoeffer, Dietrich. Creation and Fall: A Theological Exposition of Genesis 1–3. Edited by Martin Rüter, Ilse Tödt, and John W. de Gruchy. Translated by Douglas Stephen Bax. Vol. 3. Dietrich Bonhoeffer Works. Minneapolis: Fortress Press, 2004.
This resource includes paragraph marks in the contents. However, even with a copy and paste I am unable to search for these paragraph markers.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Good try but not very precise.
The Pilcrow is a standard character used in referencing documents by paragraph number - especially used in legal documents but certainly not limited to such. From Wikipedia: "
"In legal writing, it is used whenever one must cite a specific paragraph within pleadings, law review articles, statutes, or other legal documents and materials.
In academic writing, it is sometimes used as an in-text referencing tool to make reference to a specific paragraph from a document that does not contain page numbers, allowing the reader to find where that particular idea or statistic was sourced. The pilcrow sign followed by a number indicates the paragraph number from the top of the page. It is rarely used when citing books or journal articles."
It's essentially an abbreviation for paragraph in the same way that # is an abbreviation for number and $ an abbreviation for dollars.

None of those characters are searchable either - except via Find - as they are word separators.

The Pilcrow Sign, U+00B6, has character class "Punctuation, other". http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/b6/index.htm
Punctuation isn't indexed. You can use Ctrl+F Find.

Bradley, standards don't determine how characters/punctuation is processed. It has to be determined by the manuscripts (resources). What would you do in a language where ! is used as a letter not punctuation?

We would encode it as U+01C3 "Latin Letter Retroflex Click" (which is a letter): http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/01c3/index.htm
