Bug: "Sort by Savings" not working

For a long time now, the "sort by savings" has been exhibiting unexpected behavior. It used to be that it would sort by the highest PERCENTAGE of discount (which incidentally is not always the highest savings in absolute amounts). Recently, when I select this option, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or rhythm to the result whatsoever. Upon closer inspection, however, the one consistent pattern is the "Regular" price (sorted from lowest to highest). If this is not a Bug then it must be a Spider!

I have noticed this, too, and I would like to see it fixed.

Likewise. I wonder if it's at all related to the problem with wishlists, reported elsewhere.

I'm not sure what names to mention for Logos.com issues, but could a Faithlife rep please respond here.

Hi, Reuben, this was corrected over the weekend: https://www.logos.com/products/search?Status=Live&start=&sort=savings&pageSize=15
Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for your response Toby! I'm sorry, but it still looks like a problem to me...
The fourth resource pops the bubble for consistency with following the PERCENTAGE of savings. My thought is that even if that were consistent, it would be less than helpful. I suspect most people would be more interested in a $100 item that's marked down 50% than in a $10 item that's marked down 60%. I for one would sooner spend money when I'm "saving" [:P] $50 than when I'm only saving $6.[;)]

Hi, Reuben--looks like you're also seeing some dynamic pricing for the Reformed Commentary Bundle mixed in there. The search index is only able to be based on savings in common for all users--Dynamic Pricing isn't considered.
I agree that it's confusing to sort by savings and not clearly distinguish between the savings percentage used for the sort and the percentage that's actually made specific to the user through DP. I'll open a case for that.

Probably true. That would be an additional feature; I can open a case for that as well.

At the risk of outing me as one not belonging to "most" people - anyway, but I personally like the savings ranked by percentage rather than dollar saving. Actually we are not "saving" anything (you put it into scare-quotes yourself), but pay. and with Logos to "save" high double digit amounts you oftentimes must pay big. I personally am not interested in saving 8% on Collectors, even if it's a bunch of dollars, when I need to give a truckload of dollars to get this 'large' saving.
When I look through the library sorted by savings, I usually stop in the 40s or 30s. And I nearly instantly would buy a $10 item I'm generally interested in that is marked down 60% (i.e. pay $4) - and would less likely shell out $50 to get an item with normal listprice of $100 even if it's on my wishlist. Okay, I still may - after all, 50% is a large discount percentage for Logos.
Just my 0.02€
