every time i start Logos 4 Mac - it downloads resources again and it doesn't work
8831.Archive.zip
From your logs, it looks like there are about 800 resources left to download. Just let all the downloads finish, then all the resources will show up in your library after L4 discovers them from the drive.
Thanks,
Tom
Thank you for quick reply.
I have attached new file. It start to download again. Never started index. Always quit icon from menu. after 2 downloads - first 6,6 Gb and second a few MB and after that - no indexing but after launching program it starts to download from the zero ground - 6,6Gb

Evgeny,
From the logs, it looks like L4 "thinks" the indexer is running which usually means it died prematurely. If you open Activity Monitor, do you see a process named Logos4Indexer running in the process list? If you do, select it and click "Quit process" (you shouldn't need to Force quit it). Once the process goes away, you may need to restart L4 again to get the indexer running again.
After trying these steps, can you post your logs again?
Thank you.
I launch the program again. It starts to download.
After i get your reply - i have stop all processes (downloading and indexing through active monitor) and relaunch the program. it didn't start to download but it quits unexpectedly.
Now i launch it again and it is downloading resources again. Also i found that i have indexing process in active monitor.
Just post again here (with logs if you have them) if you have any other problems. Thanks.

It is downloading again. it's probably 6th time on a row.

I think I see the problem. It looks like what happened is that the system thinks that it is actually downloading 4 resources, so it's not starting any more until those "finish". I'll look into that code tomorrow and see if I can fix that up.
Can you close Logos 4 and then hold down "Cmd+Shift" and click on the Logos Indexer icon and "Cancel All". Then go in to Activity Monitor and make sure the "Logos4Indexer" process is not running.
Next, open /Users/admin/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/8xswksdh.0zi and delete the DownloadManager/DownloadManager.db and UpdateManager/Updates.db
Also delete /var/folders/R-/R-4K39wtGQqcJYoWjmEAak+++TI/-Tmp-/DownloadProgress-8xswksdh.0zl.db if you can.
Then restart L4.
Thank you for your care.
it's funny but it says - downloading - but nothing happening and the program is not launching yet
I did everything what you advised.
it says again - downloading[:(]
Try stopping the indexer and L4 again and deleting the ResourceManager/ResourceManager.db and restarting
i have stopped index and downloading. delete resource.db.
it launched and crashed. And relaunched and it is downloading again. Now is 1% of updates of 6,58Gb
now It's working but zero resources. no indexing. when it starts - in doesn't do downloading. But it doesn't do indexing.
here is my log

I think the indexer is crashing on this resource. Can you move this file out of the Libronix DLS/Resources folder and see if you get any further?
01/28/2010 15:45:05 | DEBUG | 3 | LogosResourceDriver | Identifying resource file located at /Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Resources/gs_ecf1.lsf
I did everything. And delete this file. it was located at library/application support/libronix dls/resources
sadly. no good result. Blue icon in menu has appeared for 10 second and disappeared. L4 is working but no resources and no indexing.
This may take some iterations. I've got a bug filed to look into this issue, but in the interim, I'd like to get you up and running. One option is to temporarily rename the "library/application support/libronix dls/resources" folder to "Resources_tmp" or something similar. Then you should be able to get through downloading and indexing your Logos4 books. Then you can rename this folder back after the initial indexing is complete and we can keep working through any issues if they still appear.
Also, could you post your Indexer.log again. I want to see if it's another file that is crashing the indexer now or if it's the same one.
Thanks
Thank you Tom for your great help and care.
Here is my log
3683.Archive.zip
Again, another bad resource:
Rename this file for now:
01/28/2010 23:38:30 | DEBUG | 3 | LogosResourceDriver | Identifying resource file located at /Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Resources/gs_ecf3.lsf
and restart.
Basically, I'm just looking for the last resource file mentioned in Indexer.log before
Stacktrace:
at (wrapper managed-to-native) Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Logos.NativeMethods.TitleLoader_LoadTitle (Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Logos.SafeTitleLoaderHandle,string,Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Logos.TitleLoadHint) <0x00004>
Thank you again.
What i have now.
L4 has finished indexing. And it works now!!!!!
folder Resources has been renamed into Recources_tmp
What should i do next?
You can try renaming your Recources_tmp folder back to Resources.
If it still causes problems, then you can just rename it back to "Resources_tmp".
We hope to have some fixes in place for A13 that will allow you to run with both sets of resources in parallel.
I'm working on reproducing the error you are seeing so that I can fix any bugs in our indexing process.
Can you give me the output of the following command?
ls -l /Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Resources/gs_ecf1.lbxlls
Also, do you know if you are using a case-sensitive file system?
Dear Tom!
Thank you for all your great help. Sorry but I don't know how to answer your question about a case-sensitive file system - i don't know where to look
here what i've got
MyMacbook-8:~ admin$ ls -l /Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Resources/gs_ecf1.lbxlls
ls: /Library/Application: No such file or directory
ls: DLS/Resources/gs_ecf1.lbxlls: No such file or directory
ls: Support/Libronix: No such file or directory
Oops... try this (with quotes)
ls -l "/Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Resources/gs_ecf1.lbxlls"
And don't worry if you don't know if the filesystem is case-sensitive. You have to go through a few purposeful steps to set it up to be case-sensitive, so if you have done that, you would know. The default is case-insensitive.

So you and I have different versions of this resource:
-rwxrwxrwx 1 tom.philpot LRSCORP\domain users 31426960 Aug 8 2002 /Users/tom.philpot/Resources/galaxie/gs_ecf1.lbxlls
For the record, the file sizes I have for all of the gs_ecf* resources are:
ls -l ~/Resources/galaxie/gs_ecf*
31426960 Aug 8 2002 /Users/tom.philpot/Resources/galaxie/gs_ecf1.lbxlls
44194696 Aug 8 2002 /Users/tom.philpot/Resources/galaxie/gs_ecf2.lbxlls
40119032 Aug 8 2002 /Users/tom.philpot/Resources/galaxie/gs_ecf3.lbxlls
At any rate, your new Logos 4 package should have an updated version of this book, "Early Church Fathers" which is now called "The Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers".
