Equivalent resources are resource that share a surface text but differ in presentation e.g. a Bible in verse vs. paragraph form, or a text itself vs. with morphology vs. with clause structure. As there are only a few such resources, it is easy to miss the feature.

1. Open the BHS, NA27 and KJV. Note the equivalentl sign that shows that they all have equivalent resources. Clicking on it will open a ribbon showing the equivalent resources with an orange line under the resource currently open.

2. Hover on resource will present a small information panel on the resource. Click on another resource in the panel and that resource will replace the current resource in the panel. Clicking on a resource also closes the ribbon.

3. When the focus is in an equivalent resource you can use the keyboard to cycle through the equivalent resources.

  • Use Ctrl Shift right to change to the previous Equivalent resource.
  • Use Ctrl Shift left to change to the next Equivalent resource.

4. Resources that have equivalent resources:

Have you run a query to see if there are any other equivalent resources besides those listed in the wiki? Thanks for your help.

I've gone through the list of resources (Mark's List) that have the Equivalent resources and tried to match to my library.

I only get a few, like the AV and KJV, the BHS/WIVU, etc.

Is there a macro or other way to go through and make this same type of determination?

For each group, select one resource you do own, click the equivalent resources icons and you'll see all other resources in that group that you own. If you don't own at least one resource in a group just skip the group. It is common to only have a few equivalent resources.

Gone through the list and have 14 out of Mark's list. Good exercise, helps me know what I have.

Still not sure what to do with this, if anything.

    Thanks, MJ

The main point is that within a group you have a quick navigation path - mouse or keyboard.

Not the equivalentl sign that shows that they all have equivalent resources

Believe you meant "Note" at the beginning of this sentence.

    Thanks. Fixed.

Mark's list of equivalents has  these Hebrew texts as equivalents:

    • Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: with Westminster 3.5 Morphology
    • Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: with Westminster 4.2 Morphology

I have both of these, and most of the others he lists, but the BHS/WHM 4.2 is not listed as an Equivalent Resource in BHS/WTS3.5 or any of the other equivalent resources (all have all the others that I own). And, there is no Equivalent Resource "sign" on the BHS/WTS 4.2. Has the BHS/WTS 4.2 changed and is no longer using the same text?

3.5 especially is very old. 4.2 is superseded by BHW 4.18 which does have equivalent resources
