Logos 6 not responding

Hello, I've had a problem with logos 6 since purchasing it back in December. When I do a everything search the computer will start searching then I get a prompt on top of my screen that reads "not responding". This is an ongoing issue and I was told that it was supposed to be addressed in the 6.3 version. I've now got 6.4 and still having the same issue. If this were on one computer I'd think it was my computer but I'm having the same issue on 3 computers. I am very disappointed that this has not been resolved!

I cannot duplicate this problem. You said you were told it would be resolved in 6.3. Who said that? Did they say what the problem was?

Please enable logging and reproduce the problem you're seeing. Upload the logs and maybe someone can help you.

I have spent numerous hours on the phone with tech support and they have spent at least a few hours on my computer trying to troubleshoot, taking files etc. According to TS they said that it is a programming issue and that my computers aren't the only ones having the issue. I've sat next to friends that are using logos 6 and did the same search at the same time and my computer will take up to 30 seconds longer for the results and that is after getting the message of not responding. I have an i7, solid state drive, 12g of ram. I had the computer built for logos. I have the same problem on two other pc's. According to logos TS this isn't happening on all pc's, just a select few and mine happens to be one of them.

It seems similar. I could do a search such as mite and the computer will begin to search then shows the not responding at the top and hangs for a little while then the not responding disappears then the results will be displayed.

Sorry, I meant a video screencast so that we can watch exactly what you're doing, see how long the delay is, etc.

Perhaps it's your layout?

If you change that, what happens?

Can you try closing all panels, opening just a Search Panel then running the search for "sycamore" again? Does it still have the same hang? (Again, it would be great if you could post a screencast of the search.)

Also, I can't see the "Library Results" section in your screencast. Is it currently set to "Ranked" view? If so, does changing it to "By Resource" or "By Count" avoid the problem? If so, this is the known issue being discussed at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/107105.aspx; you can watch that thread for updates.

Hey Bradley, I changed from ranked to "by count" and that does seem to help. I did some searches that I know hang up then I changed to "by count" and the same searches don't seem to be hanging like before. So, I will keep this set to "by count" for now and hopefully there will be some fixes to the problem. If I find that I'm continuing to have issues then I'll contact you again. Do you know if there will be an update in the future to fix this? thanks,

There is a case in our bug tracker for this problem, but it hasn't yet been assigned to be fixed in a specific release. (It is linked to these forum threads so we will post back here when it's fixed.)
