VERBUM TIP of the day: starting a new lay person on a prepared Bible study aka what we should have t
For churches using lectionaries, Faithlife provides a default layout far less intimidating than the default Scripture Passage default from the Go Box. (See TIP of the day: starting a new lay person on a prepared Bible study aka what we should have told Mel Part 2)
1. Click on a reading in the Lectionary - on the side-bar on the left of the home page.
2. This will open the Home Page (default) lectionary layout which contains 5 tiles:
- This tile contains the lectionary with the readings for the day and the Missal if the selected lectionary is the Latin rite Catholic lectionary.
- This tile contains the top 5 priority Bibles.
- This tile contains the top priority commentary and the top priority calendar devotional.
- This tile contains the Cited By tool
- The title contains the Explorer tool
3. These features can be introduced in the same way as in the default Scripture Reference Layout:
- explain this screen
- right click menu
- double click definition
4. In this layout when one clicks on a reading in the Lectionary, the other panels (with the exception of the devotional) jump to that location. This allows one to read and study all the lectionary passages for the day.
Note: this is also true of the Scripture references in the MIssal as shown by the antiphon.
5. With the appropriate prioritization of daily devotionals, one cane make parallel resources pick up saints of the day without returning to the home page.
Once one is comfortable with the Home Page (default) Lectionary layout, move on to the Home Page (default) Scripture Reference layout.
