Does anyone have this similar problem? Every time I start Logos, it spends the first several minutes Building my Library Index. Have not added new books, but it does this every time. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have not experienced this. What OS are you running?

If you mean the blue circle with a 1 in it, then yes, it comes on when I start the programme but I thought it was just checking for updates rather than indexing.

Ok, Well at least I am not the only one. Use to not do that. I guess that is just another Logos three steps forward, 4 steps backward. When I turn Logos on, it is to study, not to wait for it to do something that it doesn't need to do. I am very frustrated.

There is an active case to investigate this problem. I will add a link in the case to this thread.

In the meantime, unless I'm not understanding something, there should not be anything that prevents you from being able to use the application for study. You should be able to continue to use all features of your application even while this notification is visible. Is there something specific that is not working correctly while the notification is visible?

It is just too slow to use while it is doing it. I took over two minutes to load my workspace while it was doing this; so it is a problem.

You didn't put the link to the thread in your last response.

You didn't put the link to the thread in your last response.

His comment wasn't to say that he would post a link in THIS thread, but rather that he would put a link to this thread in the CASE FILE. In other words, when he has something to inform you of, he will post again in this thread.

You shouldn't see that much slow down. Can you post logs the next time you see startup slowdown? See link in Alabama's signature above.

    I understand. That makes sense.

It's hard to know for certain, because the log file doesn't provide enough information to determine exactly what is causing the problem, but there may be a fix available in 6.5 when it releases.

The problem may also resolve itself after the next time a new product is added to your account. Try obtaining a free book from one of the links below. Then use the "update now" command to download the new book. When the blue circle notification goes away, verify that the new book is in your library. Then restart the application and see if the situation is improved.
