Hiding resources wasn't intended as a library management feature; it was designed to solve one problem: "This is a resource I never want to see again. Make it go away." (See previous discussion.)
This has certain benefits:
- It won't be downloaded. (E.g., on a new computer or if it's updated.)
- It won't take up space on your disk.
- It won't be indexed.
- It won't show up in search results of your Entire Library.
- It won't appear in Guide sections.
