MULTIPLE BUGS: Syntax Search Mac
Logos 6.5 Beta 5 Mac OS 10.10.4
Following John Fallahee Syntax Search videos.
Note that my setup on the left is identical to his on the right.
BUG 1 (not pictured here)—When entering lemma in the Text & Lemma section, the white arrow never appears. the operator must type enter to place the lemma in the graph.
BUG 2—With highlight this term in results checked, the Word 2 block should be outlined in orange. This never happens.
BUG 3—Ran Search. Note that John has 18 hits with agapaw and kosmos in the same clause while my identical search returned 0 results.
Note that a search for agapaw alone returns 593 hits, but adding a second word gives 0 hits.
Any search for a single Greek lemma will return correct results while running the search with 2 words yields 0 results.
Received the same results with the OpenText database.

Hi Jack.
I think some other folks will respond with information on your BUG 1 and BUG 2. As to the search, the query shown in the video is wrong. My guess is that John had the proper query to produce the hits, but missed a part when recreating the query for display in the video. There should be an "Anything" between the two words.
What the query as displayed in the video searches for are where αγαπαω and κοσμος are directly next to each other and they have a shared clause ancestor. That doesn't happen (there is usually an article or some other word between them). Adding an "Anything" between them accounts for any intervening content.
Modify your query to look like this, and you should get 18 hits. The below was produced on a Windows machine; I think the discrepancies you mention in BUG 1 and BUG 2 have to do with Mac vs. Windows issues (again, I think others may respond in this thread on those). Also note: The "Sentence" isn't strictly necessary here, you should get the same results with or without it. (Actually, including something like that may introduce seeming duplicates to the hit list depending on how deeply the clause structures nest in the sentence).

Just wanted to confirm that when the query is built properly, you will get the 18 results on the Mac as well.

Thanks Rick—Thought I had tried the search with anything between the words, but apparently I had not.
Note that Bug 1 and 2 are still bugs. Minor ones to be sure, but bugs none-the-less.
Sent a bug report to John with a link to this thread [:D]

We have created two cases for both of these issues. Thank you [:)]
