After upgrading from Logos 5 to 6 (the free upgrade), when I open the Atlas from the Tools menu, I receive:

"No maps available. You may not have purchased any maps. If you have, check your internet connection and try again."

When I open my Library and search for "atlas" I see:

Biblical Places Maps

Holman Bible Atlas

Homan Book of Biblical Charts, Maps, and Reconstructions

and most confusing of all -- Logos Deluxe Map Set

Why does Logos 6 think I have no maps and deny any use of the Atlas?

Because the new Atlas Tool is not included with the free core engine - https://www.logos.com/product/46767/logos-6-core-engine

You can still search for Maps or you should - I think - find them referenced in the Factbook

The error message is a little confusing. The Atlas tool doesn't work with the existing maps and atlas resources in your Library; it uses a completely new dataset (that is delivered over the Internet and only available in crossgrades and base packages, or Logos Cloud).

As Graham said, the Factbook tool will pull maps from your existing resources.

You state Atlas is available in the base packages. I just upgraded to the starter set, but get the same message.

Different volumes of "Atlas maps" are available in Bronze, Silver and Gold but not in Starter. Details at https://www.logos.com/compare?productIds=43516,43518,43519,43520

Thanks. After watching some of the videos on 6 one of the main reasons for upgrading was the Atlas function. I didn't catch anything that stated it would not use existing maps and required yet another purchase. Sorry, but I will be VERY slow to upgrade again.

David

I am sorry to hear you are disappointed. Faithlife offer a 30-day refund policy so if you are not happy I would suggest contacting them and discussing the situation. Contact details are at https://www.logos.com/contact
