It looks like you were successful in grabbing the logs. [:)]

I have <some> ability to read logs, but this issue is beyond me. I do notice that you are running win10, right? I think I read about some users who, during the upgrade to 10, ended up with a new directory path to resource files. At least I think I did. [:s]. Perhaps that is happening to you? Have you checked your library to get a count? Does it look right? What about storage on your drive? Is it what you expect?

I am running windows 10; however, I was having this problem before upgrading to it.

I did find it when I searched with Cortana, nut I am not sure what you want me to do with it. Because when I manually search for it, I still cannot find it.

By default, Windows hides this folder. You can make it visible by turning on the option displayed below:

Alternatively, you can just paste the folder into the box at the top of the explorer window: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\o1b133r3.cms\ResourceManager\BibleKnowledgebase\

It looks like we posted about the same time. Did you try my suggestion for showing hidden files?

I was able to manually search for the search string and it showed four files. But Windows 10 is not being very cooperative in letting me post the screen shot. What exactly would we be looking for?

Already spoke to them; not extremely helpful solving the problem.

They left it with "keep trying and see if it continues". Not very impressed with that. Been increasing frustrated with the operation of Logos. Love the software and features, but if it does not opertrate properly features do no good. I even posted logs and no can seem to figure it out.

I do think you got one suggestion - to delete a file. I am not clear if you actually deleted that file. Did you?

I am so sorry for the mixup on this. I've asked them again to contact you in order to help retrieve the files I need, and to attempt a possible fix. I think you ended up talking to them before I did, and then there was confusion about what needed to happen.

Have never been contacted by anyone from Faithlife concerning this problem. Very Frustrated! Called Logos and made sure that my licenses were all good on that end; and they are. Still having the same problem. Please, Faithlife, fix this problem!!!!!!

Michael, the only clue we have is that file Andrew was trying to help you find: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\o1b133r3.cms\ResourceManager\BibleKnowledgebase\Discovered.db

By taking the step that Andrew suggested (making sure hidden files are shown, did you ever find this file?

    Her was the info:

By default, Windows hides this folder. You can make it visible by turning on the option displayed below:

As Andrew also suggested. you can try the following:

Alternatively, you can just paste the folder into the box at the top of the explorer window: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\o1b133r3.cms\ResourceManager\BibleKnowledgebase\

The file you are looking for is Discovered.db.

If you locate this file I would suggest you rename it (Discovered.old would work) and restart Logos. I suspect it might take awhile to rebuild that database, but it might clear things up.

Follow Mark's instructions to be able to view the needed folders. Then carry out the following steps.

    1) Delete the following:

    • Folder: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\o1b133r3.cms\LicenseManager\
    • All folders except the Resources folder located in: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\o1b133r3.cms\ResourceManager\
    • File: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\o1b133r3.cms\ResourceManager\ResourceManager.db

    2) Start the application. Open the library panel and wait until the "Updating library catalog" message goes away. Then exit the application.

    3) Start the application again.

If this does not resolve the problem for you, then you will need to work with customer support to try and resolve the issue.

After almost two hours on the phone last night with technical support and deleting and reinstalling Logos on my computer (tech support said that was the only option), I still have the same problem. I am about ready to cancel my payment plan and if\when the problem is fixed and I can actually use the software the way that it is suppose to work, then I will start them back up.

Michael, it grieves me you are unable to use Logos. I certainly can understand you being frustrated if you are.

If I understand what is happening, it seems you are having problems that no one else is reporting which may explain why nothing Logos has tried has worked. Your log shows lots of resource discovery going on. My log doesn't show that on startup. I have no idea why you are experiencing this, and so far no one at Logos seems to understand it either. Perhaps one of the developers will look in and see the problem.

My only suggestion would be to leave Logos loaded and keep your computer running. I do this even though I don't have problems just to save loading time.

Thanks Mark. Yea. I have been keeping it open since the problem has arisen. Question for you, though. What version of Windows are you running?

Windows 10 home edition. I've noticed no difference in Logos' behavior since upgrading to Win 10.

Is your library updating or as mine has been doing "preparing your library" sometimes for 1 minute other times 10- 20 minutes?
