Copying Tables from Resources
Is there a way to copy tables from the various resources to a Word document in a way which preserves the look of the table?

A screen capture tool like Jing will work, but you lose the ability to edit. If you don't care about editing, then that would be the tool I'd suggest, as it is free.
I agree that the inability to preserve table structure with borders is less than convenient.

Another option is to use the Print/Export option and make it into a XPS file. This will retain the table and text.

Windows has a native snipping tool that works as well

Let me clarify, does the Logos software have this ability? I am aware of tools like OneNote, etc. If this ability is not in Logos, it needs to be a feature that is added.

Hm, I just tried simple "copy & paste" with a table from the gunpowder trason book that was free a couple of months ago. Looks all right to me. What's the problem...?

This is the problem. Copying does not retain the table format

I do not know how to access that. It is not option that I see when I right click a table or highlight a table and right click it.

Bruce's suggestion of producing an XPS file is available from the Print / Export menu found by clicking on the panel icon at the top left of the panel.

I'm sure it does! However, if you paste it here into the forums, the table display gets lost. You need to paste it into an application that can actually display tables, such as Microsoft Word.

I think Mark is right. If you simply copy Logos text and then paste it into a Word document you lose the table format. This has been my experience too.

My above screenshots came into place by simple copy & paste. So I'm convinced it does work.
Are you sure you paste into Microsoft Word, and not into WordPad, NotePad or any similar application that can't display tables properly?

Okay, I just tired it again in Word and the table format is not coming through. Just to clarify, I'm using Word 2010. I'm not sure what to say. Perhaps the version of Word makes a difference. Edit: I even tried right clicking and using the various paste options.

Possibly. I have Word 2013. Does Word 2010 have "Paste Special"? Maybe that'd be an option:

Jan - I am sorry, but your comments border on offensive to me. I use Mircrosoft Word and have attempted to get numerous tables from Logos books copied into it.

I don't want to offend, but the above screenshot is a fact, and therefore hard proof that copy & paste can work. I've also suggested some options (paste special, copy from biblia), which I'm not sure you even tried. I'm truly sorry that I've offended you, but I'm also confused about why...

Jan, you are copying images, not tables.
Copy/paste does NOT work with tables. And I'm using Word 2013.
I've tried multiple examples, and the only thing that comes over whole is tables that are in the original resource as an image.

Copy/paste does work with tables. I just copied the "Table 4.1" that Mark Johnson used above. I highlighted some of the text in Word yellow to prove it's text, not an image.
Obviously not all the styles (e.g., row background) came across 100% but that can be fixed in Word.

I'm not sure why it's not working for you, sorry. Are you selecting the entire table in Logos, then pressing Ctrl+C or using "Copy" on the context menu?

Okay, I think I may know what is going on here. I think it is how each of us is defining tables. From your post above Bradley I would say that the text copied but not the table (the outline around the text) but you are saying that it did copy because you got the text lined up. In the table you chose there were not clear lines all around but in other tables there are only lines and that is what doesn't copy and that's why we were saying that it doesn't copy the actual table.

By "table", I meant "table layout": text laid out in rows and cells. I considered the table formatting somewhat irrelevant, because as long as Word knows about the layout, you can quickly reformat it in the style of the Logos resource or to match your destination document. Here I fixed the formatting (to match the formatting in the Logos resource) with three clicks in Word (which is only possible if the data is copied as a table, which it is [:)])

That second image is NOT the same as the first. (Anyone hear any Sesame Street music at this point?) You copied the text in a tabular format, but you did not successfully copy the table.

Which version of Word did you do that on Bradley? I have been running Word 2007 forever. I guess I'm going to have to update, or be relegated to fossil fuel.[:(]

I don't, and neither did the OP, which is what matters here. We were using Bruce's definition.
Being able to correct the copied table in Word is helpful, but I still maintain that the ability to copy tables is compromised. Whether that is the fault of Logos or MSWord, or simply a bugaboo of electronica is unknown to me. If it is the result of coding in Logos, I vote it get fixed. If either of the latter two, it is out of our hands unless you know Bill Gates.

I'm not personally a subscriber, but I've heard good things about Office 365 Personal: https://products.office.com/en-us/office-365-personal. For $70/yr, you get the web versions of Office, but also the ability to download the latest desktop versions (and use them as long as your subscription is active).
