BUG: Performance issue on Mac
If Verbum 6.6 SR-3 is allowed to sit unused for a few minutes, (this step may not always be necessary), then click Tools/Personal Books and the pie pate will spin for about 10 seconds on a fast Mac for the list of Personal Books comes up (I have 300 Personal books if that is a contributor). It is instantaneous on Windows. Then, do a little work (like Add a fake personal book but don't actually add one, just 'x' out of it like you changed your mind on adding the book), and do "Close All" and you get the pie plate for about another 10 seconds before the pane closes. Again, this is instantaneous on Windows.

I did try restarting the computer, it's the same - about 8-10 seconds to bring the pane up, about the ame to close all. Other panes are very fast
This is on a 2014 MacBook Pro, 16GB memory, 2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz, • 16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM memory, and • 1TB PCIe-based Flash Storage disk so it should be very fast as Macs go.

I just updated to 6.7 RC-1, and I turned off the graphics card switching so it always uses the high performance graphics card, and it's still easily 8-10 seconds - and no indexing or anything going on signified by the blue circle in the upper right hand.

For completeness' sake, have you tried this in the stable release of 6.7? I don't suspect it would change, but it's worth asking.
I would personally imagine the 300 personal books to be a contributing factor, but I'd also expect it'd be the same on Windows. I'll create a case for a developer to look into.
Edit: Could you also provide some logs from opening the PB tool? That might have some information on what it's doing during those 10 seconds.

I did try in the release version, first time I went up to it, it seemed better - only 4 seconds or so which is fine IMHO. Closed about the same. About 10 minutes later I went back to it (nothing going on, on the computer), and again it opened in about 4 seconds, but it took a full 10 seconds to close and go back to the Home Page. It closed the panel in about 2 seconds, but then it sat there with the spinning pie for almost 8 seconds. So something is going on.
I run Windows 10 too, and it's pretty much instantaneous there. So it's a Mac issue.

The performance of the Personal Books panel has been significantly improved on Mac in 6.8, which is currently on Beta 4. It should be available on the stable channel in 2 weeks.

This fix is now in 6.8 stable.
