What must I do to see the right Bible in Parallel Verses, so for Example the KJV or NIV instead of my Prioretized Bible? But I want to hold the German Luther for the Rest. So English when it Ponts to an English Bible and German if not.

Thanks for Help

It is my understanding that you will always see your prioritized bible, unless the tag has been linked to the specific bible. I don't think there are many of those... I might even be wrong and there aren't any! In any case, there isn't anything you can do from a prioritization standpoint. Either it is tagged for a specific translation (or not), or you will get your prioritized bible. The interesting thing here: Is that reference intended for the NIV84 or NIV11? If it were tagged for NIV84 only long timers would have access to it. Else it would be a broken link.

I have been pushing for the ability to see references in the translation referenced and rarely get much support for what I consider to be an obvious need. I'm glad another person wants it. We need to be persistent.

Sascha John:
seems to me an easy thing with new books...

Why would it be "easy"? FL has a method for automatically creating scripture hyperlinks. This would require hand tagging.

Some questions for both of you:

  • How would you expect a reference to be handled when the user does NOT own the bible in question? A "you do not own this resource" page to pop up? Is that really more helpful for MOST users MOST of the time?
  • Are you wanting/expecting only version specific links when the reference is "John 3:16 (NIV)"? What about when the book has a notice in the introductory matter: "All references are NIV unless otherwise noted"? If you don't mean those, why not? How is it different than the other case? (In my mind, it is different in SCALE, but not in KIND.) If you do want the later, why bother with a "preferred bible" at all?

for the overall case, we can solve that by ourselves if we want to (advanced priorisation). In my mind, there's a specification for a solution, but I agree that it's not "easy".

I thought it would be easy for someone in this above example just tag to the spezific Bible Version the Author mentionend...but after reading your Post your are right that is not easy.

Mick this was what I'm looking for advanced priorisation. I will look there was a Post in the Forum. Thanks.

I prio. my Luther 84 for the quick overlook if I just hover over a Refferents it's faste for me to read it in German.

1. What I have suggested is that one can set whether a resource use its preferred Bible or the user preferred Bible. If one does not have the resource preferred Bible it would revert to the user preference.

2. When I specific translation is specified - which the abbreviations are sufficiently standard as to be machine coded, I have suggested that the reference itself act as above; the version abbreviation would be tied to that specific translation and would need no specially default behavior.

3. Trust me that when I make suggestions I know they logically can be implemented at a reasonable cost with user friendly behavior. What I do not know is how easily the Logos architecture can support it because I don't know the code.
