Logos 6.8 Crashing
Logos 6.8 was working just fine for a while. But, for some reason, links in the Courses material stopped working. So, I closed Logos and re-opened it. Now all it does is crash. It does not open. I tried a cleaning and a restart on my computer. Logos still just crashes. Never opens up. This is getting very frustrating.

So, since I needed Logos to open, I tried holding the Command key on my Mac and see if I could open up a blank layout. I did not see an option to do that and thought "Oh, no! If the issue is my layout it will just try to open it up again." I did not that Faithlife had changed it so when you clicked "log in" it opened up a blank layout on default (or at least, that is what happened to me). So, I tried opening the same saved layout, but from an earlier time period before my latest save. Logos crashed on open every single time. So I tried an even earlier layout, and then it opened up without crashing. I am not sure how or why, but I think the problem was the layout became corrupted. If the logs also show a bug in the software that contributed to the crashing, I hope they fix it.
What was I doing before it started crashing? I was opening links in Courses under Suggested Reading and See Also. The links suddenly stopped working. Even right clicking and choosing Open Link in New Tab did not work. Either I could drag and drop the link where I wanted, OR (when that stopped working) I could right click on the link and open the link in a new Tab. But, then neither of those options worked. So I (foolishly and stupidly) saved current snapshot and closed Logos and reopened it. Then it started to crash. I thought I would try restarting my computer. Logos STILL crashed. After many more crashes (and posting about my problem here, and more crashes after that) I tried opening up Logos from a Blank Layout. That worked.
I figured I'd try to detail all the steps just in case there is a bug Courses that caused the layout to become corrupted after clicking and dragging the Suggested Reading links or right clicking on the link to open the link in a new tab. If that IS the case, then Faithlife could fix it. But, if not, and my layout got corrupted some other unknown way, then oh well. At least I got Logos to open up.

Caleb. That was an excellent summary of the problem and the fix. I would ask just one more thing. Do you remember the course and the link when Logos first stopped responding?

Caleb, thanks for your detailed report! Your logs match the error from other reports we've looked into with crashes in 6.8 and we're planning to ship an SR this week that should solve your problem. I'll add a link to this thread so we can post once the fix is available.

6.8 SR-1 has now shipped and should fix this issue for you.

Logos 6.8 SR1 installed fine on my Laptop Win 10. However, when I opened logos 6.8 on my desktop (Win10) and learned SR1 did not install I closed logos and then started to open it in administrator mode (which installed perfectly on both desktop and laptop in the past).
However, I believe I did something foolish. When I started logos6.8 again on my desktop, rather than selecting run as administrator, I accidentally opened it normally. Thus, I stopped it by closing it in task manager (takes a long time to load & didn't want to wait).
When I tried to open it again in administrator mode (or in normal mode) it opened the logos6 splash screen and then crashed. I wonder if stopping it as I did corrupted the logos.exe file or some other part of the code process?I tried renaming logos.exe as "old" (6.8 version) and replacing it with the 6.8 SR1 from my laptop that successfully installed. Didn't work. Same instant crash.
How can I fix this? Do I need to re-install Logos6? :-(
If so, how? Is there a link to install 6.8 SR1? I do hope there is an easier fix.

When trying to re-install 6.8 SR1 from download, it stops asking for access to the Libronix.DigitalLibrary.resources.dll.
I went to the folder nl and opened properties and approved indexing. It made no difference. Install still would not proceed.
What am I doing wrong?

Update. I failed to note that the file Libronix.DigitalLibrary.resources.dll did not appear in the nl folder. I found that file in the pending/ko file. I changed its properties to allow indexing, but it made no difference. Why would the installer ask for permissions to index a file in a folder when the file is not there?
Apparently, I am locked out of Logos 6. I need help from the experts.

Warren,
Not a good place to report a crash in Windows when the original post applied to a Mac!
Try changing ownership of your Logos folder as per https://wiki.logos.com/Fixing_Logos_4_folder_Ownership
Then enable logging as per https://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging and try to install the update (it won't do a full reinstall; just update existing version). Upload the zipped log file folder if the problem still exists, and don't change properties of files!
