VERBUM TIP of the day: Ancient Literature, Catholic Topical Index, Confessional Documents.
With some resources appearing in multiple sections of a Guide, it is important to recognize how they serve different purposes in different sections.
1.Some Confessional Documents appear in the Catholic Topical Index. Note that Confessional Documents do not include Ecclesial Documents which are included in the Catholic Topical Index. In the Confessional Documents, the resources are tagged by theological stream (loosely denomination) and theological sub-discipline. The Catholic Topical Index is a curated set in which resources are tagged by topic and resource class
2. Both Catholic Topical Index Section and the Ancient Literature Section include Early Church Fathers. In the Catholic Topical Index they class is expanded to include later ecclesiastical writers as well. In the CTI the references are organized by curated by topic. Ancient Literature is also curated. Here the focus is on the use of the scripture - quotation, allusion, echo..
3, One can create a Passage List of references in the Catholic Topical Index and Ancient Literature but not for Confessional Documents. This means that one can use the merge function of Passage Lists to identify overlap, section specific references etc.
