The screenshot below shows different results when searching for Intertext quotations or LiteraryTyping quotations.

Jesus' words in Matthew 5:31, 33 (for example) are returned when looking at Intertext labels but not when looking at verses tagged with the OTQuotation Literary Type.

Interested to know whether this is simply a tagging omission or whether there is some other reason for this.

Thanks, Graham

Hi Graham.

These are simply two different sets of data from two different sources with two different goals; I wouldn't expect perfect consistency between them in the area of defining quotations of the OT in the NT.

If specifically desiring intertextual information, I'd recommend focusing on the dataset specifically tailored for that area. The Literary Typing data may consider a different literary type more important in the areas where there are multiple potential options, preferring to label them instead.

Fair enough but I'm still left wondering whether there are tagging omissions here.

Looking at Matthew 5:31, 33 & 38 which seem to be used by Jesus to introduce different aspects of his teaching with very similar structure, only the third is tagged as an OT quote. But the Literary Typing is identical in every other regard:

I haven't checked other areas of difference but it does seem strange (at least to me)!

Was preparing to write a forum post to ask what I was doing wrong. I noticed the very same issue. There are several instances that the Literary Typing SHOULD pick up, but does not. I havent kept record of them, so I know it doesn't help much, but have noticed several instances of this issue.
