I want to be able to search for νικάω in the active with any accusative object per BDAG's entry.

"act. w. the obj. in the acc."

Is there a (easy) way to create νικάω in the active followed by any (pronoun, adjective, noun, article, participle) accusative without creating a ridiculously long morph search?

I know I could create a syntax search, but I want to be able to search outside the NT (e.g. LXX, Philo, AF, etc.).

I feel as if I remember a similar question being asked previously, but I don't think I'll be able to find that. I really hope this is easier than I'm realizing. Because this is a simple broad search that someone is going to want to do throughout Greek Literature and if logos doesn't make this easily searchable, I'm going to be a sad customer.

Thanks.

Try

lemma:νικάω@V?A BEFORE 1 WORDS @R??A, NA, JA, DA, V??P??A

i.e. commas between the morph expression for Pronoun, Noun, Adjective, Article and Participle.

I had the range to 1 John.

It changed it to all passages but it only came back with two passages from Josephus.

There are a few passages in 1 John that meet what search I'm trying to create. So, something should of come back from the previous search anyways.

From the results in the Josephus passage, it seems like this search , the comma is meaning "and" rather than "or". So, it is looking for all "@R??A, @NA, @JA, @DA, @V??P??A" in one passage.

compare your search string with Dave's: probably the additional @s throw it off

Can you see my image? It seems that I did exactly what he put.

Thanks, modified search a bit that may have some false positives:

lemma:νικάω@V?A WITHIN 2 WORDS @R??A, NA, JA, DA, V??P??A

Noticed 4 Maccabbes 6:33 has a definite noun in accusative case preceding an active participle of νικάω
