Finding Ephraim (location) from Jesus time now using Logos - please

Hi

I wonder if anyone knows how to use Logos (perhaps in tandem with Google Earth) to find Ephraim that is mentioned in John 11 please?

Does such a place exist or is it long ago covered over or forgotten please?  I would love a good Logos resource (book of maps) that would help me locate map in Jesus time vs modern day era please?  I half wish I could take a Biblical Geography course.  Wouldn't it be great if Logos offered that lecture/training?

Thanks in advance.

Joshua in Rhode Island

p.s. I did see from Logos quick search that it may be Ophrah.  Eager to see what you all find beside the atlas map I located which does not show a modern corresponding location like I hoped.

You can also check your commentaries on the passage to see if they explain the equation. Bible dictionaries will likely explain the equation of the two names as well.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

The other option is to go from the right-click menu to the Logos Atlas (not shown on MJ's screenshot — presumably she doesn't have the licence to the right volume of the Bible Maps). That will bring up a map of the entire event, and you can right-click on any place on the map to bring up Google Maps. Please note that the centre of the map will be on your cursor position, even if you right-click on a place name. In the example below, the map would centre a mile or so to the east of Ephraim.

Thanks everyone.  I did eventually find some of the resources including bing.maps and google.maps links from Logos.  Lots of maps too in my resources.  Nothing that points to a modern excavation of any found site or ruins though.  Drat.

MJ's excellent note gave the location to find precisely under further reading I see....cool beans.

I think this is maybe the general vicinity - what say you geography experts?

    31°57'11.05" N  35°17'58.08" E

Anyone have the definitive Logos resource or dictionary for In Jesus Time vs Today yet please?

Thanks for going down this rabbit hole with me...time to get back to my regular studies for Seminary now (sigh)

    Then and Now Bible Maps
    by Publishing, Rose
Compare Biblical Places with Today's Cities and Countries
What countries today occupy the Bible lands of 2,000+ years ago? Are the borders of Persia in Bible times the same as the borders of Iran today? The answers to these questions and many others are found in the Then - Now Bible Maps eBook. This fascinating reference tool contains seventeen Bible maps showing the locations of ancient cities and countries in comparison with modern-day cities and boundaries. What a great way to compare places in today's news with places in the Bible.

Then - Now Bible Maps makes it easy to see where Persia is today and the places Paul's first missionary journey would take him if traveling the same route today. Below are just a few of the maps included in this incredible resource:

      •     The Middle East map during Bible times and today
      •     The Assyrian Empire, Babylonian Kingdoms and Persian Empire
      •     The Holy Land: 1020 BC and 900 BC - Now
      •     Places of Jesus' Ministry Then (26-30 AD) - Now

The maps I showed you were Logos 6 Maps. There are three volumes, and different base packages have different volumes. Logos 6 Bronze only Volume 1. Logos Maps Volume 2 is available in Logos 6 Silver, and Volume 3 is included in Logos 6 Gold.

Maps of the life of Jesus should be in Volume 1: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/93217/649689.aspx#649689
