TIP of the day: Interactives: Greek Alphabet Tutor
1. This interactive can be opened from the Tool Menu. Across the top one can select a letter of the Greek alphabet. Under it on the left you may choose the pronunciation style; on the right select whether you wish to be in read it (recognize letter) or write it (draw the letter) mode. It is set for alpha in Read it mode.
2. There is a choice of three pronunciations - Koine, Erasmian or Modern. Running a search with the following argument ""Greek pronunciation" Koine, Eramian, Modern" against your Greek grammars should find the rules for each of these pronunciations. To the best of my knowledge they are not documented by Logos for this tool.
3. When you click on a letter of the alphabet, the letter display in the center and is pronounced. Note the arrows for moving forward and back in the alphabet. At the bottom is a list of words containing the letter. Clicking on a word will cause it to be pronounced with an popup window displaying.
4. This is the Write it view. On the left side is an icon to run the video showing the creation of the letter. On the right is the option to try to write it yourself ... preferably with a touch screen
5. In the write it mode, the letters are grayed when you are to draw.
6. It will then give you a measure of your accuracy. It does no have settings for cat in lap, broken finger, phone call interruption ...
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
