No Information or Power Lookup results for some words?

If I click on a word to bring up information, or right-click on a word and select "Power Lookup," I don't get definitions for some words.

For example, no results are shown for "natures," "vindicated," "appeared," "believed," or "solved."

It does find results for other words like "unaided," "revealed," and "distinguished."

This seemed to work fine with Logos 6, but isn't working with Logos Bible Software 7.0 SR-1 7.0.0.0074 Platinum (FL).

I ran "rebuild index," but it didn't make any difference.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

    I'm not seeing this

What resource, where in the resource, are you doing this?

It was in the "Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics" material within the "Introduction to the Trinity" course.

I imagine it's able to lookup unstemmed words from the bible, because the bible has Strong's Numbers, word stems, etc.

However, it can't find unstemmed words from other resources.  "belief" and "believe" bring up Information from a non-bible resource, but "believed" won't.

Oddly though, if I go to Genesis 15:6 ESV and Power Lookup "believed," I get nothing, unlike you. Perhaps you have some resources I don't have?

However if I click "believed," the Information tab shows the Vine's entry for Hebrew #539. It seems strange that Information can find a definition, but Power Lookup can't. Why would that be?

That is strange - sorry, I can't explain that.

Although I did get an update to the ESV this morning. Have you received that update?

Yes, I did. I tried to Power Lookup Genesis 15:6 "believed" from 5 different bible versions, and all I see in the Power Lookup panel is believed. There are no details that accompany the word.

Might it have anything to do with prioritized resources? If it doesn't find anything in my prioritized resources, does it check other resources? I don't remember experiencing this issue with Logos 6, but I did purchase a higher base package for Logos 7.

Okay, yes I posted a request  on this very point. Because you are looking in Bibles it is only looking in Bible dictionaries. See my rant at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/129766.aspx

It was definitely due to resources you own which I didn't. After also purchasing the NSGBW, I now see a single Power Lookup result for "believed." This is now properly working, both from within a bible, and from a non-bible resource which had previously returned no results.

Considering that Logos advertises Platinum resources as "advanced" (compared to other base packages), I find it odd that none of its bundled lexicons or dictionaries could return any results for "believed."

I agree with your point. When I want information on a word, it's more likely that I want to understand what the word means in English.

It would be more helpful if the results also included a non-bible dictionary result, but the issue here seems to be that the Logos English dictionaries can't return results for tenses. It can lookup definitions for "belief," or "believe," but even when I directly open the dictionary and type "believed" in its Go box, it returns nothing.

While Logos apparently has many sophisticated tools to do complex things, this issue defeats the whole simplicity of "click on (or hover over) a word to see information about it," when its dictionary is unable to automatically handle tenses for me.

I don't think this is correct. For me, double-clicking "believed" opens a monograph resource:

and doing a Power Lookup gives six resources: this one (which despite its type works like an analytical lexicon) and a Bible Concordance (down below) and four study bibles.

The point seems to be as was made here: Looking up looks for English Headwords without (properly) using the stemming algorithm usually employed by Logos.

Yes, I was imprecise ... if fails to look for English dictionaries only for definitions it would use for Bible references. Thanks for correcting me as it will help with my request.

The more precise description of the problem:

    1.  On a double click, words like "work" or "saliva" will go to the English dictionary.
    2.  On a double click, words like "disciple" or "rabbi" will go to a Bible dictionary or its equivalent

This is not desirable behavior when working with limited English vocabulary, reading ability, translations using uncommon words ...
