High CPU usage when Logos is just being idle (WIN 7.1; 7.1.0.0025)
This is the same symptom reported in the Logos 7 forum at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/131480.aspx
I have high CPU usage while viewing the Home page and it continues after going back to desktop layouts, even if I (and Logos) is not doing anything. CPU usage returns to normal only when I close Logos. CPU usage continues to be normal when I launch Logos and use desktop layouts until I go to the Home page, then CPU usage jumps up again.

Tim, is this regardless of having the Media Tool open or not?

That is correct - with or without the media tool. It seems to be related to the LogosCEF.exe.
- I launch Logos directly into my last layout.
- LogosCEF.exe is not running at this time
- I go to the home page (see image below of what I have active on my home page)
- LogosCEF.exe starts running two instances (see image of Resource Monitor below, taken after step 5 below)
- I go back to my layout
- LogosCEF.exe continues to run (slowing down performance) until I close and then relaunch Logos.
- If LogosCEF.exe is for the home page, it seems it should end processing and release its memory when you leave the home page - or at least go to an idle state so it doesn't' use so many resources.
I tried reporting this once before on an eariler version of Logos and older computer at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/126856/825706.aspx#825706, but wasn't able at that time to provide additional info,
Thank you for looking into this.

Tim,
It looks like you don't have logging turned on. It didn't capture the data. You'll find instructions my signature on this post. Once that is enabled if you could reproduce and post the logs.

Sorry, I thought it was already on. Turned it on and re-ran above test.

Hi Tim,
Could you do the following:
- Click on the gear on the home page.
- Turn each option off.
- One by one turn each conent source on.
Please let us know if you observe a spike in CPU usage when you turn a specific source on.

Hi,
I am experiencing the same issue with LogosCEF.exe for Logos version 6.14 SR-2, and I am running the application on Windows 10 Pro. I see high CPU usage continually; eventually, after a long time, the usage reduces somewhat, but when I sleep and resume my computer, the usage spikes all over again to some very high number.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,
Could you please follow the steps I outlined above and report here when you see the CPU spike. Also please posts logs from after you've conducted this test. You'll find instructions in my signature below.

Tim,
I wanted to let you know I was able to replicate the issue and have created a case. Thank you for your patience.
