I notice this has not been fixed in RC1

Correct; you can see all the known issues here: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/133612.aspx
It was not the goal of 7.3 to fix all bugs in the new search engine, but just to get it out there (disabled by default) for early adopters to provide some feedback.

Correct; you can see all the known issues here
Known Issues
- Reference searches for large ranges, e.g., <Genesis> or <Gen-Deut>, may run slower with the new search engine.
- Not checked this
- In the Search Panel, the tooltip for search results within a footnote will show the body text of the resource (around the footnote marker) not the text of the footnote itself.
- I've not seen this e.g. footnotes in Net Bible
- Multiple results within the same footnote will be counted as one hit (which may cause hit counts to be different from the old search engine).
- I've not seen this e.g. footnotes in Net Bible
- Cited By may crash or show "-1 results" when "Sort results by search rank" is enabled in the Cited By panel menu.
- I thought the crash was fixed?
- Only the first ten search results in each article will be highlighted within resources (for open Search panels).
- OK
This issue appears not to be documented!?

It is fixed in the RC, yes. I'll update that line.

It's essentially the same footnote issue. (The resource has an unusual layout where "sidebar"-type articles are made available through popups, which are indexed the same as footnotes.)
