BUG: Sermon Editor Slide Settings Not Consistent

I love that the Sermon Editor builds my slides for me as I type. In theory, this should save me loads of time! But I'm finding that it doesn't respect my slide settings, particularly regarding aspect ratio. I use 4:3 as this is the current configuration at our church. But the Sermon Editor is DETERMINED to make me use 16:9!

1. This is how I set up my title slide before creating any other slides - note that 4:3 is selected and there is a subheading

2. But when I create my first slide the aspect ratio is set to 16:9

This happens consistently, meaning I have to go in to each and every slide to select the aspect ratio I originally asked for.

3. I have also noticed that when I close a sermon document and then reopen later to continue working on it, the editor has "forgotten" which slide background I was using, plus any other settings.

4. Clicking on the title slide and selecting "Apply this style to all slides" then resets the title slide to default settings and removes any subheading/reference that I had included earlier. Note: aspect ratio back to 16:9 and subheading has disappeared.

Obviously, all this means that I don't save a great deal of time with the Sermon Editor!

Please could we have the option to select a DEFAULT aspect ratio for ALL slides created so that this never happens?

And could the Sermon Editor remember and respect all media settings between sessions?

Thanks!

    Richard,

I let the team know about this.

RE: 2. Does reverting to 16x9 only manifest when you open the media in the media tool again? When I first generate slides, they render 4x3; but when I open the media tool to edit, they switch to 16x9. (That's the behavior I see, but I want to make sure I don't miss something.)

3: Yes, there are some improvements we need to make in this area. We will prioritize improving this behavior.

4: We are already tracking the subheading issue and plan to address that in an upcoming beta; hopefully the layout issue will be resolved with media tool improvements.

    Hi Jacob.

Yes, that does seem to be the case. As thumbnails the slides appear to be 4:3, but when I open the media tool they have reverted to 16:9.

    Richard,

This should now be fixed in 7.3 RC 2 (7.3.0.0031)
