John,
It does fix the issue with the home page not opening on launch, there is a secondary issue we haven't been able to fix but are working on fixing on incorrect display. I've clarified things in the release notes. We didn't fix the courses tool issue yet, but we do have a case open.

John,
Can you post a screenshot of the top part of y program settings and also what any text or program scaling you have? This will help in reproduding this.
Thanks,
Philana

John,
Thank you for this information. This is the other issue that the team is still trying to fix with the home page. What this SR fixed was that when the app would launch on all Macs the homepage would be completely blank (it wouldn't open at launch at all). This issue of it opening on some machines with the bad display has not been fixed, but the team is working on it.

This release broke Smart Tags again. Two releases in a row. Not happy.

This time, rebooting fixed it. But I'm not happy about Logos forcing a reboot, either, just to keep things working. That said, THANK YOU that that's all it took to fix it. And thank you for such a great suite of tools.
Grace & Peace,
Bill

Don't they test these things before they send then out? I mean how does a software that has been around as long as Logos has been send out an update that breaks one of the best features of Logos 7; names;y, the course tool. I hope they find a fix real fast. I do appreciate the software and the work that has gone into making it so great, but sometime I do wonder if they test the software enough before they send it out. I mean, if the course tool isn't working on a lot of computers then surely someone at Logos would have had the same problem, if they would have tested it.

I don't recall seeing reports of the Courses tool not working under this release - and I've just tried it and it seems to work fine.
I suggest you start a new thread outlining the problems you are having.

Generally there are a few beta versions sent to testers before a stable release, but I think Christmas threw everything off. FL wanted to get a new release out before the holiday, there apparently was a critical bug in it that necessitated a rushed fix (SR-1) that didn't get tested and happened to introduce other bugs. Another bug was introduced in SR-2 in an attempt to quickly fix an annoying (yet non-critical) SR-1 issue.Pastor Michael Huffman said:Don't they test these things before they send then out? FL does do some testing in-house, but they also rely on beta testers outside the company, to catch issues that FL might not have discovered. I think one of the reasons why these rushed fixes got sent out with bugs was that they didn't get pushed out to the beta channel testers, before they shipped.
This hasn't been typical. FL generally does much more beta testing, and I imagine that the development cycle will go back to longer periods of testing before a release, now that the holiday is over. Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

The third comment from the top was complaining about the courses tool not working in 7.3 SR-1 and John said that it still is not working in SR-3 and the Logos employee said that they did not fix that problem.

I use the Courses tool daily, and haven't experienced any recent problems with it. I haven't noticed any new or unresolved Courses tool issues in SR-2.
This might be a difficult issue to reproduce/track down (and require logs), since it's not consistently happening for everyone.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

I get a partial home screen now. If I click the Home button twice, it becomes the full home screen. This is what it looks like after I installed the patch and rebooted my Mac: http://i.imgur.com/3Iu6uYb.png
