To update to 7.4 Beta 2 enter the Update Now command if you’ve switched to the beta channel before. If you currently have a stable version installed (such as 7.3) and do not want to receive future beta updates, install following the instructions found here. If you want to receive future beta updates, enter the Set Update Channel to Beta command to download Beta 2.

From the 7.4 Beta 2 release notes:

Add smart text replacement. The following patterns are automatically replaced by the editor. The Undo command will restore the original text if the replacement is not desired.

  • Straight single and double quotes are replaced with smart quotes.
  • Two dashes are replaced with an emdash.
  • Three dots are replaced with an ellipsis.
  • An empty normal paragraph starting with “* ” or “- ” is converted to a bulleted list.
  • An empty normal paragraph starting with “1. ” or “1) ” is converted to a numbered list.

Can this smart text replacement feature be added to Note documents as well.  When typing in Notes I constantly miss exactly these items, which I am so used to from MS Word.  If you could slip this code in the Notes module as well, that would be fantastic.
