^This is the message L3 keeps giving me every time I try to sync my resources. I thought it was because L3 couldn't recognize wifi, but I'm hardwired now and it is still happening. Anyone have any happy mojo to make this work?
I am not 100% sure this can be done anymore I thought I heard that the L3 servers were shut down.... I could be wrong, I was going to suggest calling tech support but L# is not supported.. however they may have a way to get the Licences to sync.

I thought I heard that the L3 servers were shut down....
HA!! Sorry...you are a month early on that one! April is next month.
I have to admit, though, I am beginning to feel mighty postal...
It may not be a possibility, but are there any other users of Libronix who would like to keep the server up and available? I'm thinking about a user-managed server for those still using L3.
Libronix stopped logging in for me quite a few years ago so I reluctant gave up on trying to use it. My understanding was the same as Dan.

Well, as I've stated here before, I don't really have any other options. L3 is irreplaceable since L> doesn't handle notes correctly. I'm trying to remain calm, anticipating a positive outcome, but I MUST BE ABLE TO SYNC MY RESOURCES, PERIOD. I'm willing to take on some of that responsibility, but I don't have any other options. My Libronix notes ARE MY LIFE. That's not an exaggeration.
I am using L3 on an older computer, so obviously that computer is sync'd. I'm assuming that there is a downloaded file on my old system that allows that computer to acknowledge my resources. Does anyone know what that file is and if I can copy it over to my new computer to get L3 to work on it?
I last synced L3 on a Windows XP machine less than a year ago. There was definitely no connection issue back then. I could imagine that syncing on Win Vista or Win 7 might not be working.
If I remember right, you can create a license backup in Libronix somewhere in the navigation structure, and also import license backup files. (Note that this process will not sync your licenses with the Faithlife server).
Jan is correct.
In the working L3, go to Tools/Library Management and backup your license. You can back up wherever you like so back up directly to a USB drive.
In the new L3 find the license backup, under Tools/Library Management restore your license.
You should always keep a copy of your license file separately, eg on a CD in the bottom drawer.
L3 was/is a great program.

Couldn't agree more. I never had any issues with Libronix. Except that I couldn't use it on my iMac when I changed from a PC in 2009.
I've still got my resource CDs nicely filed in a folder.
Every blessing

Well, I did finally get it working on my new system. Only glitch I see is that it doesn't give a Paste function on right-click when I am creating Notes...but Ctrl-V works, so I can manage. That is a 10-year old worry lifted off my mind. I can finally relax and start letting this simmering resentment toward FL dissipate. I've worried that I would lose my ability to use Libronix since it was deprecated, so having it up and running on my Win10 system is a relief. However, I STILL WANT TO BE ABLE TO SYNC MY RESOURCES!!! Logos software is a gem, but hoverable full-page notes (even though I suspect it was a design fluke. since they deliberately designed it out of all subsequent versions) is something only L3 has and in my mind it is the most important thing Bob ever did. Indexed searching and hyperlinking are highly useful but hold a respectable second place.
I am trying to install the Libronix Digital Library System and eBible on a Windows XP PC. At the Account Management stage Activate DLS tab Activate over the internet option it gives me the message >"You must be connected to the internet for this to succeed..." My internet connection works fine but it keeps repeating this message. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome Arthur!
Libronix DLS is a system that is way outdated. What the activation routine tries to do is to establish a connection to a Logos license server - however, it may welI be that this server has been deinstalled years ago. Even if not, another possible issue that came up in the forums lately is - if I understood correct - that the current server infrastructure at Faithlife is not able to accept connections coming from Windows XP machines (for security reasons some of the protocols used have been withdrawn by Microsoft etc).
If one of those two reasons is the source of your issue, I'm not sure if we fellow users can help you at all.
Welcome [:D]
Recommend upgrading to a computer with one that has a minimum of Windows 7 SP1 or OS X 10.10 so can use Logos 7 or Verbum 7, which have free packages with "access-only" resources => Basic and => Verbum Basic An option for eBible is redeeming the Product ID with your Faithlife account using => https://www.logos.com/redeem so installation of Logos 7 or Verbum 7 includes eBible resources.
Libronix Digital Library System is unsupported => https://www.logos.com/support/free-support and was discontinued in 2009. As of March 31, 2012, new resource files are only compatible with Logos 4 or newer.
Since 2009, security updates have rendered Windows XP unable to negotiate a secure connection with Faithlife servers so new installation on Windows XP cannot be done.
Thread => Logos 4/Windows XP remote certificate issue? has many replies by Bradley Grainger with last one being:
Cross-referencing https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=services.logos.com with https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa380512.aspx makes me think that there is no TLS 1.0 cipher suite that the server and Windows XP can agree on using. (And according to https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewClient.html?name=IE&version=8&platform=XP almost all the XP cipher suites are regarded as insecure; the two that aren't also aren't supported by our server.) This would mean that a secure connection can't be established, so logging in would fail. I'm not aware of any TLS cipher configuration changes that have happened recently on our end, so it's not immediately obvious to me what might have changed here.

Thank you Bradley!
Thank you for your kind help! Looks like I will have to buy new software and upgrade my hardware, as well.[:(]

Well, at least Logos 7 is free - and some good resources as well.
Arthur, if you have a perceived need to use Libronix, it does run on Win10. If you have a backup file with your resources, reinstall it in L3. If you don't need to use L3 then just use the newest version...or better yet, use both! (That's what I do.)
David Paul, does this mean the FTP-server is completely down (it was unclear to me as the word FTP was not mentioned in the discussion, I've been following by email subscription)? If so, would You consider mailing me Libronix-era resource files - i.e. the encrypted books as files, on a USB-thumb drive? I'll pay You for the favour by Paypal. Don't misunderstand me, I own the books for which I did get license-file from customer service:
So I never downloaded all the resources-files, the books, by the FTP software to the Win 7 Professional computer. But since it's Win 7 Professional it runs my incomplete Libronix-installation natively with the files I did download. And it stays that way if I don't get more resource files for the installation. A little more about the Win 7 Professional computer, especially its condition, further below.
On another laptop (low budget HP, some AMD APU Dual Core 1.65 GHz CPU), Win 7 Home, I have a virtual box in it that still runs XP, under which I have both L3 and L4. I haven't booted L4 for Years, so I suppose the only way I can use L4 is by using the scan -command to get hold of .logos4 resource -files to it, as I just installed the software back then - I can't remember having installed books, I remember I sat doing these things while sitting in a class at the Catholic college, what took most time was installing XP Home and I couldn't sit longer than the office hours in the classroom, as I seem to recall I did these things in one go. But I digress, that about L4 is in the state it is as I think the XP-problems would affect it: i.e. if I would start L4 with internet on it would first try to update the L4 license file but would just erase the L4 license file - so it would actually be gone for good then as it's not like how it's handled under L3.
It would be a shame if I can't run these computers, they used to work for me for quite a while for web browsing. Not being able to run L4 would be a minor thing, what I would need it for would be to follow an old Learn Biblical Greek and Hebrew with Logos -video lecture, where the Hebrew software interface part has changed since those days, the change came already with L5.It's a disaster if I can't run L3 properly anymore despite having these two computers, because I used to until recently have another computer: Win 10, make: Asus (didn't need to activate MS Office 365 as I didn't see need for it so that package wasn't installed), powerful AMD FX CPU and graphics (although it did concusem some battery, so on battery I had it set to 7% maximum CPU frequency usage and it worked well with that setting, still the battery life was not optimal, and battery could not be changed by user so could not switch between two batteries). I got rid of that AMD FX laptop by being squeezed from and injured the forefinger on my right hand getting robbed in about three minutes, in Sbb library, city-area. A little worn and all! I would have hold on to it.Had not been able to backup everything.I suppose since I dated a young girl last Year I've since forgot about (not looking at her picture anymore at all, now only having one old face picture of her on the computer and a black-and-white printed inside cover of a few copies of noteblocks, and two letter size/A4 colour photos - not that good printing) and who is now perfectly happy with someone else and not in touch with me, I suppose I'm to start all over in a number of ways, in life.
Summary in short: I can't access my library in any form right now. I need to run HDDRegenator on the Win 7 Professional laptop (which is Ivy Bridge gen. btw, i3) before I can go online with it in the first place, that's the cheapest and quickest way to get it running, meanwhile it won't initialize Windows Update, nor update of the web browser. What I'm saying is: I'm completely stranded offline! Please help me! I would get L3 up with this help, by mail, if I can get that help from someone kind! It still only has 4 GB RAM, (which can be upgraded to 16 GB), so I had not installed Verbum or equivalent, I don't even have Acc on it.
I can cope with the financial damage at the moment, I have a good home-insurance, so the AMD FX laptop that got robbed from me, is covered, I loose just $80 and what was not backed up, a Year's worth of work that I didn't do on the desktop computer (Win 10, Intel G2030 great value for money CPU, Ivy Bridge gen.).All I can use is a little more properly is my desktop computer, on which I have a somewhat updated Acc installation (still on version 10 though) and a partial L7. (I have an internet data-cap, so I was not able to download my whole library, and at the time I couldn't find my USB thumb-drives, so I couldn't use scan-command other than with rather dated resources files I did still have on the HDD from an abandoned Verbum 6 installation (that present Verbum core engine which in turn I'm replacing with an extra spare account that I have (L5 Silver Reformed, AYBRL, NIDB, Ancient Literature and Parallel Passages Feature Collections, L6 Chinese Bronze, BDAG bought used, Lk NIGTC -volume (from 1978) by Marshall bought used, Boice expositional set bought used) when I marry - because it's a login I've built up and saved unused solely for a future wife which I'm yet to establish a relationship with, so only a handful of my purchases from the last little more than two Years are present.)The desktop computer is lagging a bit when choosing within any app, to use the browse Windows file system dialogue, and to show the tabs in Chrome web browser more visually again (the small tabs to click on at the top) when having several unnecessary ones.
Anyone who is evaluating speed: Should I try, if I can, to now get either ones of these below two new computers?: Or should I save up for quite some time for an equal HP Elitebook which can endure vibrations and slight physical schocks better?:
It would run L7 a couple % faster than my Asus Win 10 AMD FX with HDD did, as the latter had a slightly faster although much more power-hungry CPU than the A10-9600P in the HP. Both quad-core of course. The Asus laptop I had, had DDR3 RAM.... I sent a question to support whether the RAM in that HP upgradable to 16 GB. I suppose the SSHD is replacable (would hate a computer wear out just because of that part being non-replacable).What would be better about the HP than the Asus I had, would be much better battery-life, also the battery in the HP is user-replacable, and better by being almost 2" (inch) bigger.Although lacking any ultraportable, with a purchase like that I should say goodbye to checking email in the local bus.
EDIT: There's also this below laptop which has been a demo-laptop and comes ready with 16 GB RAM:
Drawbacks: Older operative system, ships ready with enough RAM but it's DDR3 which is worse contrasted to DDR4 in the more expensive 17-inch laptop, much less powerful graphics (way much worse than the Asus which I had, had, which had splendid graphics), CPU a bit slow due to some operations being slower compared to other high-mid range laptop CPU:s and the 17-inch laptop.Exact difference unknown: Unable to find a review that would state battery life, but I'm guessing that in a configuration with one of the HDD:s replaced with an SSD instead, it's 20-25% worse with same speed than the 17-inch laptop depending on screen brightness (less difference to the 17-inch when if they would both be compared with fairly high brightness). It would be the same speed because this slower computer would have to be set to use a higher percentage of the CPU than what the 17-inch laptop would have to be set to. I'm also guessing, and I'm more certain about this, that the battery-life would be a couple percent worse over the Asus laptop which I had, due to the two disks and worse CPU, but the difference could have been bigger, what consumed more battery in the Asus was the dual graphics-setting.Neutral: It has two HDD:s, I'm not sure about the exact benefit of that, as it consumes more power. White outside cover.Positives: Fairly low price considering both that it has enough RAM and that a large enough SSD instead can be selected already in the storefront, to replace of the HDD:s, should perhaps replace both HDD:s to SSD:s. If the latter option, it would slightly outperform the 17-inch laptop at some tasks. CPU has 4 MB of L2 cache which occasionally improves performance in operations, which is twice as much as the Asus laptop I had and the 17-inch laptop.Only real improvements with this 15-inch HP laptop over the Asus laptop I had, would be two disks, white color on the outside cover, probably better finish in the port on the side where connecting a projector, that it would have less existing wear right now, and that I suppose I could to some degree automate backup.
Anyone!:But: In comparison, should a computer cost less than the total of new books to be bought within the next 1½ Years, do You think?
Mikael, sorry I haven't responded sooner. I don't have ready access to the internet at this time so I only get on occasionally. I don't have time to read and respond to your whole post at this time, but I can respond to a couple of things. I do think the ftp server is still up (I accessed it late last summer), but even if you download the files for resources you do already "own" (i.e. have licenses for), that alone won't allow you to access those files in L3. You need to sync your system with the Logos server to unlock access to those files. However, I think that server may be offline. That is a serious problem. I was able to back-up my old L3 program inside Libronix and then restore on my new system, which gave me access to what I have already unlocked. But I have many L3 files that I have not yet unlocked because I just purchased them recently. For instance, I bought the Anchor Yale Bible a year or two ago, but I never got to download the L3 files to use. I can still access AYB in L6, but I can't in L3. I am on my new computer now, so I don't have a way to check the FTP server. Someone else may be able to check it, (I don't remember the address).
