What day of the week was Jesus crucified?
Looking for research, commentary, sermons on the subject.
Please advise.

Good Friday is the traditional answer (many hits in Logos resources for Friday as a word or a topic). But three days and nights in the tomb is not satisfied if we assume that He rose on Sunday, so consider this web article.

Dave;
Much appreciated. If you come across any sermons that support this position, please let me know. Warmest blessings & regards,
Jesus was crucified and died on Friday before 6 PM. Anything after 6 PM is when the day would be considered an end and a start of a new day. So He died on Friday in the afternoon which is one day. After 6 PM this would have been considered two days so by Sunday morning that would be the 3 days and 3 nights. That is my understanding. Hope that makes sense.

W. Graham Scroggie in his book A Guide to the Gospels has chapter on this topic. I couldn't find this book or any of Scroggie's books in logos or vyrso.

If Sunday (daylight) was the 10th of Nissan (day passover lamb was chosen), then Thursday was the 14th of Nissan.
