Courses tool progress is Gone!
My first morning with the new beta.
The progress was there ... and I continued with my plan ...
... after I had read through a few resources (moving on via the continue button) I came to the end of a section which said 1% complete (instead of 75% complete!).
Returning to the list of plans, all at least two other plans with significant progress are now showing clear grey circles.
Choosing a different plan (which should have 50+ percent progress) I am taken to a point early in the plan ... not at the start ut nowhere near where I was when last I looked at this plan.

Martin,
Just a follow-up question, is the progress bar displaying the wrong progress, or is it actually taking you to the wrong location?

Hi.
The courses tool os showing this:
The first two courses are showing 'Syllabus' as next but they have been extensively used (about 75% and 50% respectively, if I remember correctly).
When I click on the course titles (not the word Syllabus) CS201 takes me to where I would expect to be.
The NT221 takes me to a place much earlier than I should be ... but not the start. It may be that it is a video that had not been marked as read ... I think the start of this course predates the courses tool. I have expanded the sidebar to illustrate that noting has been marked as read. I do not know why I have been taken to Segment 14.
Regards
Martin.

Fortunately, there is no data actually being lost here. The application is just neglecting to show the correct icon when the course is opened. The work-around is to just ignore the missing icons and continue to use the tool normally.
We won't be able to have a fix for beta 2, but should be able to fix this up soon after.
Please see the post below.

I am very sorry. I was incorrect in my post above. No progress is lost as long as you just open the course and view it. However, if you make any changes to your status (by selecting different sections or by continuing), then your old progress on the course will be lost.
There is a partial-workaround for this once the bug is fixed. If you click the blue arrow button on the course card in the list of courses, you can select "Import reading progress". This will mark sections complete for readings which the system thinks you have already read. This can mark some sections of the plan complete if you have previously read them independent of the course.

Matin,
This should be fixed in 7.7 Beta 2 (7.7.0.0006).

Thank you.
I am not seeing any progress indicators ... I presume that that on my computer was lost. Is there a backup at your end? Any way of restoring lost data at all?
Thanks.

Martin,
Can you verify the course you are trying to start? Is it CS 201? Does this occur every time?

I can recreate this crash. We appear to have an open case for this issue, but haven't been able to recreate the problem before. I'll update the case and add a link to this thread.

Yes it was CS201.
I have just tried again and was able to (eventually) click all the way to the 75% point that I had reached.
It did not crash the second time ... but then I was a little slower with my clicking. I do not know whether my first attempt was the result of clicking too fast (overloading some buffer); or clicking too fast and confusing the app due to the slow response of the FL servers (which you may not pick up at your end!); or whether it is something else entirely!!!2017 15" MBP, iPad Pro
