Bug: Fresh Install of Logos 7 crashes on opening (Win10)

Description
Logos opens, populates the frame and sidebar, but does not populate layout.  Crashes.

NB: Logos 7 was newly installed few days ago, installed successfully, downloaded library and completed indexing.  It was then opening suiccessfuylly.

Went to open today ... and it now crashes.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Load Logos
  2. Screen starts building then it crashes
  3. do that

Actual Result
Logos crashes and closes

Expected Result
Instead of crashing I expect logos to open correctly and show the usual layout with the latest feeds.

System Specs
Desktop | Core i7 6700HQ (2.6GHz) | 16 GB RAM | Nvidia Geforce GTX960M 4GB RAM | 256GB SSD | Windows 10 Professional 64bit |

What to do to get this working again?

Many thanks,

Kevin

This is almost certainly caused by another program on your system installing an incompatible version of Newtonsoft.Json.dll in the "Global Assembly Cache". (One known offender is SAGE accounting software.)

The workaround is to uninstall Newtonsoft.Json.dll from the GAC using "gacutil.exe". If you contact Tech Support on Monday they can help you with this procedure.

Hi Bradley,

thanks for that ... as it happens I have installed Sage for work .... !

i will investigate the GAC tmrw and seek to resolve the clash.

appreciate you pointing me in the right direction ...

Kevin
