ANNOUNCE: Discontinuation of Libronix Services
On October 1st, we will turn off all web services supporting the Libronix Digital Library System. This includes the activation server, Libronix Update, Synchronize Licenses, and ftp.logos.com. After this date, it will not be possible to add new purchases to LDLS3 because the systems that generate updated Libronix license files will be decommissioned. (Customer Service and Sales are not exempted from this, and will also be unable to generate updated Libronix license files.)
This will not disable your Libronix DLS installation. Libronix DLS doesn’t require any web services in order to run, so it is possible to keep using LDLS3 offline (with your current licenses) indefinitely.
Use the Tools > Library Management > Backup Licenses command to create a license backup (that you can save to an external drive) for disaster recovery purposes. The program can be reinstalled (offline) from original CD/DVD installation media. If that isn’t available, we recommend the use of a whole-disk backup program to back up your installation.
We strongly recommend upgrading from Libronix DLS to Logos 7 Basic for free: https://www.logos.com/basic

Wow. It's a dream come true. Libby lives forever (at least longer than me). I thought her support was already gone, years back. She'll be happy.

Wanted to add a comment.
Libby was slated to die in early 2010, if I remember the announcement, with the Logos4 rollout. Then, Bob relented, and agreed to another 2 years (Logos4 needed a few extra features). That would be 2012.
Now, it's well into 2017. Basically, Logos quietly gifted license support for an extra 7 years. That was a very nice thing to do. And reflects their values.
And surprisingly, Libby's still working great. For lunch, an article concerning Hezekiah's inability to defend Judah (Sennachereb was no slouch for burning towns down). Followed by a Logos7 search on just how many did he burn? I think I would have kept them. Shows he wasn't sure he could get Hezekiah.

Mine stopped connecting to licensing server years ago I am surprised to hear it is still running. There were lots of others complaining at the time it would not connect and we were getting lots of errors in the software as a result too, possibly due to IE changes. I hope your install continues to run trouble free Denise for many more years. Logos 7 is wonderful but Libby was Libby and FL failed to bring all features and resources (yes some resources from LL1/2 and LDLS do not work in L4-L7) across to L4 despite the promises - and then there was the overnight removal of the webpage tracking progress on the conversion of Libby missing features to L4 with no explanation or apologies.

Yes, she's almost ready for junior high and knows nothing about 'social media'! How time flies.
I definitely got my money's worth. I figure, equal to a hair's more than an extra year in Bible college ($25k or so). And 12 years of great research.

The wiki Missing Features page will show progress if you follow the links for Fuzzy Search and Graphical Query (I don't intend to update it as there is no link to it from the main Wiki page). One could argue that Morph Query replaces Graphical Query, and therefore there are no 'missing' features.

Let's not forget image zooming. Libby does that with her eyes closed.

On October 1st, we will turn off all web services supporting the Libronix Digital Library System...
FYI: I copied and pasted this to a private pastors' FaceBook group, since many have used Libronix (our denominational Seminary required it, back in the day) and have not upgraded.

Libby was colourful but I haven't been able to sync her for years. Bradley's post implies I have been missing out on something.

It has not been possible for at least 3 years, Any working web services will be discontinued as stated.
It shouldn't be a problem for you as you have Logos 7, but if you have any unlicensed products try to redeem them by entering a serial no.

Will library resources from that era be effected by this? Like the old thomas nelson bundles, which you had to call in and give the serial numbers and run the scan command? In other words, 1. will we still be able to do this in the future (if we find one on ebay for instance) and 2. will we lose access to those resources which are already in our Logos 7 libraries that came from those old discs?

Not after Oct 1. They will no longer unlock old CDs.

Absolutely not. Faithlife's policy is that anything you buy (and have a license for) is yours forever. You will lose nothing. In fact FL has updated many of these resources (if only by correcting typos) and still offers them on their web site.

Yes, but you can only add the licenses from that CD to Logos 7 (or later), and you will have to call Customer Service to do so. It will not be possible to apply the licenses from that CD to a working LDLS3 installation (if you have one).

As far as we know, it has not been possible for a fully-patched Windows installation to contact the Libronix server for at least two years. So, practically speaking, the decommissioning of this server shouldn't really affect anyone.
If Synchronize Licenses isn't working, and if you have recent purchases you want to add to Libronix DLS, and if you have manually downloaded the files for those resources in LBXLLS format, then you can contact Customer Service to get a copy of your latest licenses in Libronix DLS format. (This will not be possible after October 1st.)

The Report Typo service (originally designed for LDLS3, but still used by Logos 7) will be modified to keep logging typos in our central database, but will no longer send an email when a typo is reported.

That's going to be a other FL communication failure if this is the only notificaton to customers about the change. Not everyone is going to see this post and people will potentially try to resubmit a typo because they think it didn't work the first time if they didn't get the email.

I guess I can prove you right, as today (Oct 10) is the first time I've seen this announcement and I own an L3 setup. Too late to consolidate things, I suppose.

I gave up on the typo thing a ways back. It's like any publisher ... their product is their product. Mistakes, typos, missing TOC's. Balls in their court.
More recently, ditto on bugs. They refuse a regular reporting mechanism; maybe they see a post, maybe not. Maybe they see a post and shrug. Sort of like a bar out on the edge of Death Valley. In the backgound, you hear some fading flapping wings. Then stillness.

Just to have it completely clear in my head, I can buy a never-opened Libronix product from a store and phone up Customer Service and they will get it to work in Verbum/Logos 7?
(I ask this because I have the opportunity to buy a never-sold Libronix product from a store nice and cheap.)

Yes, but you can do it yourself if you want, by filling in the unique product key that comes with the Libronix CD-ROM into the box at http://logos.com/redeem

So that's not part of what Faithlife got rid of?

Correct as https://www.logos.com/redeem associates Libronix resource licenses with your Faithlife account. Web servers for Libronix Digital Library System (LDLS) included a license server, which was synced with your Faithlife account (so your library licenses were on two sets of servers - now the LDLS servers have been turned off).

I have been following this thread which has left me a bit confused. Glad to hear of this website you just mentioned.

I like having L3 and L> together, but I still would trade away everything since 2009 to keep Libronix active. It has never been equaled in what it does best, and for me what it does is indispensable. Long Live Libronix!!! [W][B][Y]

Friday, Logos went into a 25% CPU unending circle during a search. Had to go into a separate program to kill it plus its sidekick. Then switched to Libby.
Ah, peace and good will to all Libby-lovers.

I got the LifeWorks Library, but it installed Libtronix and the countdown thing won't stop. I tried https://www.logos.com/redeem, but it oddly says the code is in use. The CD was a gift, and I was told it was not used before. Is there any other way I can get my books onto Logos? Or is there any other way to unlock Libtronix? Because when I connect to the internet it says the service isn't supported, and I see why now.

Hi, Madsen. Welcome to the forums.
Technical support for Libronix ended maybe 5 years ago, but they did continue to support product and licensing until their server became iffy, with the funeral recently (this thread). After that, the redeem page you tried.
Presuming their lookup for the license is correct, I'd assume 'not used before' needs verifying? Shrink-wrapped, etc? The uniqueness of the code was their only protection through the last 13 years or so. Libby's almost ready for high school!
