FL - Please, Please fix this!
You have added yet another feature that I cannot use if I want to be able to use my laptop for more than four hours - Faithlife Assistant
MacBook Pros with dGPU have half the battery life when using many, many, many Logos' features. This not only diminishes battery life, but overall battery health. That means that Logos reduces the life span of my laptop whose primary purpose is to run Logos.
Is this being addressed? Is it on the list? This is very limiting to one's workflow. I am not the only one affected. (not a comprehensive list)

Here is an embarrassing list of features that reduce the life span of my laptop:
Home Page
Sermon Editor (really?)
Courses Tool
Faithlife Assistant
Media Browser
Text Comparison Tool
Parallel Gospel Reader
Atlas
Bible Browser
Bible Sense Lexicon
Miracles of the Bible
Names of God
New Testament Use of the Old Testament
Proverbs Explorer
Psalms Explorer
Speaking to God
Synopsis of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles
Text Converter
Weights & Measures Converter
I stopped checking the rest of the interactive resources but am guessing that they would all find themselves on this list.

Does this fix your problem? In my experience I WANT all the interactive resources defaulted to "on". If I were in a situation where I needed to preserve battery life, I believe the "airplane mode" is an easy to implement alternative.
Making Disciples! Logos Ecosystem = LogosMax on Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (Win11), Android app on tablet, FSB on iPhone & iPad mini, Proclaim (Proclaim Remote on Fire Tablet).

Thanks David,
That is a new approach. However, that does not work.

For offline use, personally change "Use Internet" to No in Tools => Program Settings followed by restarting Logos.
FYI an earlier Logos 7 had sync errors in Logos.log plus my waiting for sync timeout while working offline on OS X (so learned to change Use Internet to No when wanted to work offline, which improved Logos responsiveness when not connected to a network).
Keep Smiling [:)]

David's approach should work - its a bit of a sledge hammer. Can you share your evidence that it does not work so that it can be reported as a bug? Otherwise, we have misunderstood the nature of your problem ... which we should also follow up on.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

The problem that Michael was referring to is a specific problem with MacBook Pros that have both integrated graphics and a separate, discrete graphics CPU. The discrete graphics is supposed to only be used by applications when they really need it, and when they don't, the application is supposed to switch back to the integrated graphics (to save battery life).
The problem that we with these MacBook Pro's have is that when you use one of the features that Michael listed (e.g., Text Comparison), Logos switches to the discrete GPU, but when you close the panel, Logos doesn't automatically switch back to the integrated graphics. You have to quit Logos and restart it.
The problem has nothing to do with Internet connection.
See the threads that Michael included in his post for more information.

I'd say maybe you need to downgrade to Bibleworks or some inferior piece of work.

At https://gfx.io gfxCardStatus can be downloaded from there and allow you to manual switch or disable the discrete GPU.... I have used it in the past but with no update in 5 years wasn't sure it still worked... but OSXdaily claims it is still working as late as Janary 2017 with most MBP...

Thanks Levi for clarifying that for me.
Randall, I am assuming that you were being a bit funny. Downgrading would not be an option. Though, sometimes Accordance does look tempting.
Dan, gfxCardStatus is a no go. I tried it awhile back and it no longer works.

Hopefully you can get this issue escalated so FL properly fixes it.
In the meantime, I hear that iStat Menus lets you toggle between discrete and integrated graphics (and its developer still supports it).
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

I have iStat Menus and it does not have that feature, at least as far as I could see. I will check with the developer.

Michael,
Thank you for your persistence in reporting this problem. I recently found a solution for our application that allows CEF based features (like the ones you've listed) to allow usage of the integrated GPU. This has resulted in the application not requiring the "High perf GPU", which I believe is the fix you were hoping for. You can look for this change in an upcoming beta.

YES - YOU ARE THE MAN!!!
(If it actually works. We've been told this before. No snarkiness intended.)

Excellent work, Matt! Thank you, I look forward to testing it out soon!

Yes! This works. Thank you for finally finding that pesky bug!
Now a quick prayer that there is no future regression.

This should be improved in 7.10.
