Shortcut for "Apply Default Format" on a mac

In notes, I am trying to use a shortcut (control + space) for "apply default format" on a mac. It doesn't seem to recognize it. It opens a panel called "Faithlife Assistant." Any suggestions for another shortcut? Thanks.”
