Bookshelf on Home Page
Would it be relatively easy to add this bookshelf to the homepage? Or at least an option to open it from the "Customize" window.

It would be nice to pull a book off the shelf to read.

This is a great idea, and would be an aesthetically pleasing solution for managing one's library.

Way back whenever, we talked about this in another thread. Long before Mark Barnes did his marvelous bibliography app. My library has grown so much since then. We could add a bookshelf flipping option to walk through the library. [8-|] Would it be asking too much to be able to organize the display by collections? Or series? Or type? Or author? I am not asking for everything, we can scrap Dewey decimal. I'm a visual thinker.

As long as it gets second priority to completeing the missing features and software optimisation.

I'd also love to be able to drag and and drop books covers to reorder them (and have that ordering be remembered each time I restart Logos, as it would take some time to get it done right). I'd want to be able to collapse and drag entire series together and organize my visual shelves much the way I do my physical shelves: for example all my commentaries together, and then by series within that section, and in canonical order within each series; then in another section all my journals sorted by issue number; then in another section all my church history books by author; etc. And of course I'd expect the usual sorting to be possible: e.g., by Title, Author, Series, etc.

I am wondering if this BOOKSHELF feature has been added. I see that Mark Barnes has a bookshelf on his signature line. I really like the look of the visual bookshelf. (I clicked on Mark's link and it appears these are connected to live resource page, what is this for?)
I do not like the current library interface. I wish it had more of a Apple iTunes look where they could be put on a shelf in collections, and sorted to easily find them.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi, Mike. Welcome to the Logos forums!
No this requested feature has not been added yet. Mark wrote his own external bookshelf app, but he used the Logos protocol to bring it up in a live resource.
There are already ways of sorting your library and grouping books so you can find them. To get to know how to use the library interface, read http://wiki.logos.com/Library and watch the videos linked in the right sidebar.

I would be great to see Logos make this possible in Logos 4. I use Mark's tool and love how I can click on a book and it opens in my library. I can see my resources much easier. I have things I didn't know I had. It's a nice tool.
Thanks Mark.

Thank you for the responses.
I was unsuccessful at using Mark Barnes on my Macbook. Does anyone know if this works on a Mac?
Thank you,
Mike
